This weekend, I capped off my Thanksgiving turkey fest with a fabulous 80s-style ball.
Though much can be said for our current era of plums and metallic grays (more on that soon), one can’t help but miss and love the 80s era of pink and black punk couture. (Check out my dress, at left!)
With that in mind, I think you must pick up Disco Lights, a limited Holiday 2008 edition high-shine lip gloss with built-in, multi-colored flashing disco lights on the lid and a mirror on the case.
This is so adorable, and already a season-long implant in my purse. It’s a multi-purpose gloss also helps locate perfume, wallet or keys when in a dimly lit area, such as night clubs, cabs, etc. AND it’s available in just one shade - Wow Pink! (Yes, that’s totally what it’s called.) And while this color may sound intimidating for some of you wall flowers, it’s actually a pretty neutral pink, totally wearable to any occasion.
Disco Lights, from ModelCo, will be available December 1st while stocks last at Henri Bendel, New York, plus www.modelco.com.au. But I am giving away five right here! To have your chance to win, please share your favorite 80′s fashion memory…one that you wouldn’t mind coming back! Deadline is December 19.

I remember wanting a black fedora.
We use to spend hours doing our hair & using cans of AQUANET!
The trick of a goods 80′s outfit was to wear childrens bows in your hair & gloves with the fingers cut out.
It was mini shirts & bras bedazzled & worn as tops.
The best Hair Band & heavy Mental filled the clubs! Best of all the first MTV videos began with a man on the moon & the song “Video Killed the Radio Star”!
Best freaking time of my life!
Big hair really flatters my face. Please come back.
Leg warmers and really big hair.
Big Hair.
Neon clothes!
I honestly like the hair better now. I had the layers and they were so much work. The leggings and toe socks were fun to wear and some of the metallic sweaters.
.
I miss “Lace Punk” like fingerless lace gloves. Yay, Madonna!!
I need those preppy button on interchangeable purses on wooden handles to come back. Seriously.
Fishnet stockings
I likesd the hair-feathered.
Big Hair!!
I couldn’t believe it when I saw leg warmers in all the stores! I would love a pair – but I probably wouldn’t leave the house with them on.
I loved the leg warmers.
the really baggy socks :)
The big hair. Its gotta come back. I was skinny then, but if I could have big hair now that I’m a little bigger…it would make me look skinnier. I also loved hi-top shoes.
I liked big hair and miniskirts on the ladies.
I wish the beegees music would come back!
my favorite was the leg warmers :)
