Now this is something I think is awesome! Ellen DeGeneres has now become the newest face for CoverGirl! Ellen, who although is a celebrity, really represents the “everyday” type of woman out there. Her charm, wit, compassion and drive are representative of women everywhere and someone I know I can relate to…more so than say Gieselle? Yes.

Give your two cents! What do you think of Ellen as a CoverGirl?

The new cover girl make up looks very interesting
& I have thought about trying it.
The fact that Ellen DeGeneres is your model turns me totally off with it.
Noel you just said that perfectly!
Love new ideas. And I am positive that Cover Girl will have much more appeal by selling the image of Ellen. Ellen’s image is much more than just sexual orientation. It represents diversity and self-acceptance. It will sell the idea that we are beautiful, just the way we are.
Dawn, you are writing on a beauty blog, not CoverGirl’s site. They’re not here listening, I am simply reporting the news.
Also, I think its disheartening to hear that you won’t buy a good product simply because one of their spokespeople happens to be a lesbian. I don’t think it promotes same sex relationships by a long shot. They have several spokepeople and they choose them to reach different demographics. If you don’t like Ellen, then go with Drew Barrymore.
I have worn Covergirl for years!! I am sad to find out I can no longer be a customer. The factd that your company chooses to promote same sex relationships is disheartning and has guided my decision to boycot your product.
I love it! She is so funny and smart and cool. It is a wonderful choice.
Yay for Ellen! I think its great that CoverGirl has chosen a modern, respected woman as their new spokesperson. We are not all tall, blonde, and perfect, so its always nice to see normal, non-model-like women on TV.
I think it’s great that she’s the new Cover Girl spokes-model! She is a great role model for women and children both straight and homosexual. Plus she’s funny!
Hi Michelle,
I respect your opinion. And I am far from being lesbian–lol. But I looked at the picture of her above and I hardly think she looks masculine there. In fact, I surprised myself thinking how pretty she looked. I’ve always loved Ellen, no matter her sexual orientation, I think what I meant more is that personality is relatable. I relate to her through her humor. I think she was a great choice for CoverGirl–unique, but still great.
Ellen is funny and has a nice face. But is an emphatically masculine lesbian a representation of the “everyday” woman? I don’t think so.
