Embrace non-bloody limbs!

Just in case you have a tendency (like certain blondes who shall remain nameless…) to shave your legs while half-asleep and then suffer the scars of remembrance, having a good razor is probably a wise idea. We all have our faves – and I’ve tried (and failed) with a few, but I’m totally loving the new five-bladed Venus Embrace! (As is my non-shredded flesh!)

This was a razor especially designed for women. It has five blades that individually adjust to hug curves for a close, comfortable shave, and also has a ribbon of moisture that ensures a smooth glide, and the soft grip handle provides increased control in slippery environments (like, um, the shower).

As this is the season of giving – and no one wants to look scarred and bloody in their new party dresses – I have the gift of unscathed flesh!

embrace-high-res.jpg10 lucky winners will each receive:

1 Venus Embrace

1 Satin Care Alluring Avocado Shave Gel

1 replacement blade pack

To have your chance, share the absolute worst way you ever scarred yourself. (Shaving does not necessarily have to be the cause. Say, if you’ve randomly burned a limb, or sliced yourself with a knife, or stapled your own hand, that all counts too!)

Deadline to enter is Dec. 31.

The first time I shaved my legs I started at my ankle and in one quick movement (bearing down hard on the on the bone ) went straight to my knee . Naturally a strip of skin went with it. The scar is still there (very faintly) even after 25 years.

Well I’ve scarred myself many times during my life but since this is for a shaver, I’ll give you my shaving story.
When I was 5 I decided I wanted to shave my legs. Needless to say I shaved a good top layer of skin off my leg. My Mom came back into check on me and there was blood in the tub and I was crying. Scared her to death!

My husband and I were remodeling our bathroom and I was trying to be super helpful and was using the air nailer to nail down the baseboard. I accidentally turned the nailer sideways to far and a nail shop into my finger. It way so painful and I had to go the the ER to have it pulled out and get a Tetanus shot. I now have a little scar on the side of my pointer finger.

In the days before flat irons I burned by arm by trying to iron with my hair with a clothes iron. I was bent over and was picking up my hair to put on the ironing board and slipped and hit my arm on the side of the iron. Thank goodness we now have flat irons.

My worst scar came from trying to wrench on my car. I was underneath trying to turn a bolt when the wrench slipped. My elbow went full force into the cable for the parking brake. I had no insurance at the time (and little money which is why I was working on the car myself in the first place.) I couldn’t afford to go to the hospital and the cut was really, really deep. I ended up tying a shop towel around the wound and I got right back under the car.

If I win (I don’t use women’s razors) I’ll give this prize to my wife. Lord knows I don’t want her scarred!

I think my worst injury was many, many years ago when I was much younger and much, much thinner. I used to ride my horses in rodeos — specifically barrel racing. One day I was practicing on my best barrel racing horse in the horse club arena (which luckily wasn’t far from our home). Something spooked my horse, Shorty, and he suddenly just took off around the arena, going way too fast. He couldn’t make the end turn quickly enough and we literally bounced off the side of the arena and then he kept going. When we got back to the beginning of the course, the horse was so upset, he wouldn’t let anyone else near him, so I had to ride him home. When I got home, I realized the saddle had one stirrup almost sheared off. The horse was uninjured. Once I took care of him and went inside, I undressed to take a bath … and discovered a fairly large chunk of the arena fence embedded in my breast! We had to pull it out with a pair of pliars. Unfortunately, there was a splinter of it that was deeper in my breast and for years it just sort of “floated” around in there, sometimes coming to the surface until finally something like 10 years later, it finally worked its way out!

At work I was opening a box with a box cutter. I know better but…I sliced the box toward me and sliced between my thumb and my forefinger. It was deep and wouldn’t stop bleeding. NO ONE in the whole place had a bandaid.
So I went to the bathroom and wrapped paper towels around my hand and continued to work. 4 hrs later on my way home I stopped at the ER and got 7 stitches. What a scar I have now. Thanks for the giveaway and HAPPY NEW YEAR

There are two types of wakeskates. There are the ones with rubber grip, wonderful idea. We don’t have one though.

Then there are the ones with same kind of grip as in skateboards. It’s totally like sandpaper. And you get really bloody hands if you’re unlucky, like I was. And I still have the scars on 3 fingers, but I don’t mind, because scars are memories and this was hilarious actually :-)

I was applying some Nair to my “only you (I) can see” according to my husband mustache. Well some of the depilatory got on some of the skin on my face that didn’t have any peach fuzz and I have a scar on my face to this day!
