First can I even just say that I feel very luxurious carrying around this powder compact, as it is not your typical “silver” compact, but instead it is gold. Gold my friends. I look like a high end, high style classy girl from the mountains.
I’m not being smug, I just love how from the minute you open the package, it makes you feel like you are indulging into something special. Like you are treating and pampering yourself, as you should be.
The PurePressed Base is a mineral concealer, foundation, powder and sunscreen all in one. I received mine in Warm Sienna, which is a warm tone. The compact comes with a puff to apply the powder, but I have been using a facial brush and this puff interchangably.
There is no talc, oil, FD&C dyes or parabens in the powder. It is light and clean feeling. I am a fan of any powder that can matte my face without somehow contributing to its shine somewhere down the line. Most pressed powder compacts are known to contain oils to hold them together, but somehow jane iredale figured out a way to leave the oil out…and my skin thanks her.

I’m so glad to hear I am not the only one who had a bad reaction to the pressed powder. Very frustrating, as I like the way the product works. Now what?
I can never figure out how to use a mineral concealer – honest! I mean I know it’s probably simple but I just can’t get with it.
Jane Iredale is actually one of the best mineral makeup brands out there. In my opinion, they’re even better than Bare Escentuals.
I’m a huge fan of mineral foundation, but I use bare escentuals. It has a slightly lower spf, so maybe I’ll try this one. I’m always shocked when skincare/makeup doesn’t have any spf.
What a pretty case. Somehow the gold makes it more sophisticated looking, as opposed to a regular black, or silver.
it could have been from the bismuth that are usually present in mineral make up. Everyday Minerals doesn’t contain any bismuth, so she might try that out!
Lori, I’m sorry to hear that happened to you. No one enjoys rashes on their face. I don’t have sensitive skin, but I am surprised to hear that mineral makeup caused a reaction on sensitive skin.
If you have any good recommendations on makeup for sensitive skin, let me know and I will do some research and blog about it.
not satisfied. got a huge reaction and rash from this……….went away after not using the powder not for sensitive skin….like i was told!!!!!!!!!
I use the Bisque shade and it looks great on my fair colored skin. I’ve heard that the Hydrating spray used in conjuction with the powder makes your face look flawless. I’m trying this next!
I love the Jane Iredale make up, I converted over from the Bare Minerals. I like the Pressed powder foundation-its not so messy.
I also love the elegant packaging.
