Kris Aquino Endorses Pantene Pro V Hairfall Control

Pantene Pro V | Beauty Bento Box, The Asian Beauty BlogWhile I was sitting in the salon last Tuesday afternoon, they had the telly on and the Pantene TV advert came on. Imagine my surprise when twas Kris Aquino’s voice and face that I heard and saw on the screen. Apparently, Kris is also endorsing the new Pantene Hairfall Control and based on my readings, she’s been part of the Pantene’s Most Beautiful roster since 2006 (correct me if I’m wrong).

I was thrown out-of-the-loop on this one. I really had no idea.

Perhaps it’s due to the fact that my mind was set that the current line-up only includes the four women who were introduced during the Pantene event I attended a few weeks ago. I mean, watching the Pantene’s Most Beautiful TVC that stars Ruffa Gutierrez, Gretchen Barretto, Claudine Barretto, and Judy Ann Santos had sealed the idea in my head that I shouldn’t expect anyone else but them.

You can watch the TVC after the fold.

I guess, the marketer in me is just trying to come out and analyse the move or otherwise known as the marketing strategy. All I can come up with is Pantene banking on the celebrity’s status. I reckon it really works for them. These stars have a huge fan base which will patronise the products they will endorse, regardless of its effectiveness. I just wish the public will get the chance to know the product and brand more minus all the fanfare and hype. I’m dying to know if the product can actually deliver.

heya there, I do know that Kris was the endorser for…hmm..Pantene age defying? Is that right? hahah Well she’s good with endorsing ANY product, so I think Pantene would like her to be part of this product line as well :)

I can’t help but ask, how can someone be “good” at endorsing a product? Is there some sort of skill involved? Talent? I still think it’s purely a celebrity-driven marketing strategy (however worn-out a strategy it may be), tapping into their “influence” over their current fanbase. It’s Pantene riding on their endorsers’ fame and/or notoriety (whatever’s applicable). ;)

I did come across a behind the scene clip of a 2006 TVC for a Violet-trimmed packaging of Pantene. I’m not certain exactly which haircare system twas. :)
