One of the most exciting things about Fall for me is that along with the changing of the seasons, comes a whole new crop of lovely fragrances. Fragrances with notes of Fall fruit like pear or orange will be accented with classic rose and warmed with sexy notes of musk and vanilla and tonka bean. I look forward to the scents with the deeper notes.
Marc Jacobs’ new fragrance LOLA features some of these very notes. My girls and I had the opportunity to try the fragrance. We got a little sample bottle for review. This was one time when I really wish I would have been able to get the official bottle. It features a big flower on the lid, with a blue, fuchsia, and red petals, a little green leaf. Marc Jacobs Daisy also has a flower motif, but the LOLA flower is much bolder, much more colorful. It is very cute.
We really like the fragrance. Sarah, my daughter, and I were walking through the grocery store and I thought, “Mmm, someone smells great.” That’s when I realized that it was Sarah and me who were smelling so good. The balance of floral and fruit is very nice and balanced. The press release describes the bottom notes as exuding a “seductive aura,” and I agree. LOLA is definitely a fragrance that I’d wear on a date with my boyfriend.
Bloomingdales gets first crack at LOLA and will be carrying it this month, August 2009. Watch for it to hit additional retailers this Fall, in September 2009. The collection will feature Eau de Parfum, Body Lotion, Shower Gel, and Body Cream.
Top notes: Pink Peppercorn, Pear d’Anjou, Ruby Red Grapefruit
Middle note: Dischia Peony, Rose, Geranium
Bottom note: Vanilla, Tonka Bean, Musk
