Maybelline's Define-a-Lash Mascara

maybellinedefinealashI had heard that Maybelline’s newest mascara, Define-a-Lash was set to hit stores this week and I’ve definitely found people who are reviewing the product, however, I can’t seem to find where to buy it anywhere! Even the Maybelline website makes no mention about this new product, but the ad shows I am not crazy and it does exist–but where?

According to what I have read so far, Define-a-Lash is supposed to basically be the equivalent of CoverGirl’s LashExact and Max Factor’s Volume Couture. From the picture above, the mascara wand appears to be the same as the two mascara’s…however I do love that neon green color. It’s so 1988.

Has anyone used this product yet, what did you think about it and by all means–where did you purchase it?

I haven’t tried it but we have a huge end displays at both our walmarts. Have you looked there?

No Sue I haven’t because luckily enough–my husband makes the treck (40 minutes one way from our house) to Walmart every Sunday to do the grocery shopping for me. (All that walking through the store sets off too many braxton hicks contractions for my liking!)

I had been trying to find online where to buy it. I heard CVS had it, but their website doesn’t show it. Maybe I’ll check out Walmart’s website and see if its there.

I got it at CVS..I love it! I’m Asian so I have really short, straight lashes, but after I curled my lashes and put on the mascara, I actually had visible lashes! Hooray!

It`s really very cute.I bought it today.Really no clumps, and separated lashes too,but about long i`m not so shure.Of course if you have long lashes, this mascara is perfect,as everything what has the brand Maybelline on it.I love that mascara and the green colour is so special….

this formula seems to be pretty similiar to the crazed Covergirl LashBlast mascara. Great dark, full lashes with no clumping.

With the major influence of beauty blogs, I wouldn’t be surprised that all of those mascaras were sold out due to those blogs that have already reviewed it! we readers are quite quick ;D

I hadn’t tried a Maybelline mascara since the disaster that was Volum’ Express waterproof mascara back in 2002. (Icky mascara that wouldn’t even come out with my Bi-Facils makeup remover)

I ventured back to try this mascara because my favorite, Lancome Definicils, had expired and I needed something economical but still intense.

I spent about a half hour in the Walgreens, deciding between the orange Cover Girl Lash Blast and the lime green Maybelline’s Define-a-Lash. I couldn’t see that fat ugly orange mascara making a home in my train case, so in the end I went with the Maybelline.

The mascara casing is nice, shiny slim lime green — which makes it way easier to find in my train case than the matte black MAC Zoom Lash mascara casing. The plastic wand was the first I’ve tried, and it was way easier than most bristled mascaras.

However, the mascara itself was disappointing. It gave my lashes a little oomph of length and defined each and every lash, but it did nothing for volume. Even after 2-3 coats, I looked like I had five long, skinny minnie eyelashes on each eye. Kinda like Daisy Duck or some other cartoon character.

I guess on a scale of 1-10, I’d give it a 7: if you’re looking for a super natural, defining mascara, this is for you. If you’re looking for super sexy, long and volumized lashes, keep looking, ladies!

Maybelline mascara isn’t that great. It has a tendency to clump and smudge easily. I’ve always wondered how they’ve gotten their girls’ eyelashes to look so good in their commercials (ex. Adrianna Lima and Christy Turlington).

I live in Australia and we’ve had it here for a while now, I only just tried it and wish I had done so sooner. It only cost me $13 aussie dollars so it was a total bargain. I still use an eye lash curler for a boost but the mascara is great, has length, sepatation and a bit of volume. The black really is black! The wand doesn’t clump and is flexible and doesn’t make a mess when using on the top of the tube!

I participated in a blind product comparison for mascara. The one I ended up choosing as the best was Maybelline Define-a-Lash. Nothing else I have ever used, including the higher-priced beauty products like Clinque, L’Oreal, Urban Decay or Bare Minerals, even came close to the results that Define-A-Lash gave me. It seperated and lenghtened each lash, even the little thin ones, while also providing the right amount of volume. It didn’t clump at all, made my lashes look really long & black without appearing unnatural. This is a great every day mascara. I love it!
