Product Review: Lock & Mane Hair Care Kits

My hair is a production. It’s long, it sheds, it’s curly on the bottom but completely flat on top. Before I go out on a Friday night, my hair looks great. By the time I get home, however, it looks like a tangled mess of curls and frizziness. Where did I go wrong? And more importantly, how can I fix this?

Lock & Mane put together a solution. They took the necessary hair products a girl needs and assembled them in purse-friendly form. The kit comes with Alterna Caviar Hair Spray, Dry Shampoo, and packets of Shampoo and Conditioner. For my night in question, the mini Alterna Hair Spray was a success. I was able to quietly slip away to the bathroom and use the hairspray to keep my hair looking glossy and most importantly, in place. Although a bar bathroom is not the ideal environment for hair maintenance (due to less-than-stellar sanitary conditions). A girl’s gotta do what she has to do.

Do you need further convincing? Take this scenario for instance. Let’s say you slept at a guy’s house and ‘oops!’ you have work in the morning! One quick glance in his shower and you realize that his ’2-in-1′ Selsun Blue concoction was not gonna cut it. After all, your haircut alone cost most than a lifetime supply of that stuff. Luckily for you, you have your Lock & Mane kit which comes equipped with a package of Alterna Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner. And if there’s not enough time to take a quick shower? Don’t you worry, a little bottle of Atlerna Dry Shampoo has got you covered.

If you don’t want to splurge for the whole travel set, I recommend the Alterna Working Hair Spray. I always have a difficult time with hair sprays because most leave my hair hard and sticky. This one, however, does the job without the mess. And on top of that, it smells great.

So maybe you have to go to work in the outfit you wore the night before. At least your hair won’t smell of beer and cigarettes. People just think of everything these days.
