Weekly Beauty Revue

eBeauty this week

The Beauty Addict gets on the bandwagon about Brooke’s eyebrows, and is loving Becca’s shimmer powder. The fabulous DeLush gals are talking about Hard Candy, Graham Webb Hair Spray and yummy smelling holiday bath treats. The Product Girl stumbles upon the makeup mecca!

Agathe shows us how to make a great cape and a great home remedy for seasonal colds (I love her–she just feeds my DIY nature–and I hope she is feeling better!) at StyleBytes, and Elke talks about basic eyeshadow technique and offers some help with colors at the Beauty Newsletter.

At Nail Tech Secrets, we finished the basic spa manicure and are on our way to learning all about applying Polish That Lasts!

All in all, as usual, it has been a beautiful week! I hope your week was beautiful, and that your weekend is glorious. And I hope that you, unlike me, are ready for Christmas, so you can take it easy this weekend and go to parties looking gorgeous and continue to enjoy the Christmas season!

Glad to see the info about the Makeup Mecca AKA the Cosmetics Company Store–I checked the link and there was a listing of the locations, but I saw one omission. There is also a Cosmetics Company Store location in Nashville, at Opry Mills Mall, which I myself frequent. Hopefully everyone realized that the Estee Lauder umbrella covers a lot of brands–including M.A.C., Bobbi Brown, Stila, Origins, annd Clinique, as well as the signature Estee Lauder brand. I know that M.A.C., Stila, and Bobbi Brown were all started as small private lines, and developed huge cult followings–including myself, but didn’t have national distribution, and then were bought by Estee Lauder and distributed more widely. I can remember well the days of stocking up on M.A.C. at Nordstroms whenever I was in a major city, and ordering via the 1-800 number BEFORE the internet revolutionized shopping and provided online access to products. I had one particular customer service rep that I dealt with who would tell me all of the new colors and give me descriptions over the phone, so I would buy product sight unseen. Amazing!! I have had great luck at the Cosmetics Company Store, and encourage others to try. I wore the Borghese line in the early 80’s, and bought a lot of product at the CCS from that line as well, including discontinued favorite colors, and Christmas Blockbusters when they really were Blockbusters–packed with gorgeous eye, cheek, and lip colors, and lots of them, plush brushes, and fabulous packaging such as wooden jewelry boxes and train cases.
