Bipolar? Hardly. I’d characterize her behaviour here as “rationally manipulative.” Isn’t she right that the secret to making it as an artist is getting over self-pity to just get to work (produce! produce! produce!)? I wouldn’t really know since I’m a corporate lawyer, but I did study literature in college
it’s only abusive if there’s not codependence.
While I love this cartoon, and I understand it’s exaggerated humor, sometimes I wonder if your girlfriend may need some medication. She may be bipolar. But in the best possible way.
