Here at The List Maven, we’re all about fashion for a cause. What better way to justify a new purchase than knowing at the same time you are contributing to something truly good?

Stella McCartney has created a line of gorgeous funky Fairtrade t-shirts, featuring icons and prominent red noses, in collaboration with TK Maxx for Red Nose Day 2009 on March 13th. When you purchase one of these fabulous shirts, £3-8 will be donated to Comic Relief, which has raised over £600 million in donations since it’s inception.
The T-shirts are modelled by Keira Knightly who has said: “Red Nose Day helps countless lives for the better, both here in the UK and in Africa. I am really happy to be part of this year’s activity to raise money and so excited to wear Stella’s designs.”
They feature icons like Madonna, The Beatles and Morecambe & Wise and will be worn by a host of famous faces who have joined 2009’s Red Nose Day campaign to ‘Do Something Funny for Money’.
Even if you’re not in United Kingdom, where Red Nose Day is treated almost like a semi-national holiday, you can get involved by ordering a t-shirt and wearing it on March 13th. Here are just some of the ways your support makes a difference:
1. £3 could pay for an information pack to teach school children about domestic violence and who they can turn to for help.
2. Just £5 could buy a toy for a child who has nothing after fleeing their home with their mum because of domestic violence.
3. As little as £8 could enable three women experiencing domestic abuse to get the advice they need when they call the National 24 Hour Domestic Violence Helpline.
Other ways to get involved include joining the Red Nose Day Facebook group (which includes more stunning photos like these ones – a dream for a photography junkie like me!) and participating in the Do Something Funny For Money photo competition – for a chance to win £500 TK Maxx vouchers (for your next European vacation!) & signed Coldplay T-shirt.
