7 Summer Shoe Trends

As expected every year, this summer is all about sandals — high heeled strappy sandals, flat thong sandals and everything in between. So get your pedicure done and let’s go shopping! If you are looking to add some new shoes to your wardrobe, here are a some of the hottest summer trends.

Neutral Shoes
I have touched on it here in recent weeks, but neutral shoes in cream, beige and off-white are really trendy for spring and summer. They are a fabulous way to extend your wardrobe because you can wear them with almost anything.

Snakeskin Sandals
The exotic skins are in. Python sandals are at the forefront this season. But if you can’t afford to splurge a thousand bucks on genuine skin sandals (like the ones below), don’t fret. Many designers are offering faux skins that still look like a million bucks.

Hippie-Chic Shoes
Get into the Bohemian trend with shoes accented with fringe, beading and other hippie inspirations. Flat thong sandals embellished with beads and espadrille wedges are popular choices.

Gladitor Sandals
Though I’m not a fan, gladiator sandals are back this season in a big way. From flats to knee-high versions, gladiators are everywhere. If you love this trend, you certainly won’t find it difficult to find a pair.

Studded Shoes
Edgy shoes embellished with studs, rivets and zippers are getting lots of attention. If you like the rocker chic/biker chic trend, you’ll love the number of studded sandals and pumps on the shelves. But they don’t need to be dark and dreary, check out these colorful studded sandals from Sofft.

Ankle Cuffs
This is one trend that I don’t like at all. Instead of thin ankle straps, many shoe designers are going with the wide ankle cuffs instead. These cuffs aren’t a good choice for short women or those with thick ankles. They make you legs look short and stumpy.

Cut-out Booties
Booties aren’t just for cold weather, apparently. This year, many cutout booties are making their way into summer fashions. With open toes and cut out sides, these shoes can work well with warm weather clothing. Caged booties (like the ones pictured here) are also trendy.

I am a fan of all things neutral and, much like black shoes, you just can’t have only one pair. Now if only I could find the perfect nude bag, I’d be set.

    I really enjoyed this post!

I think those are the only Manolo’s I’ve ever seen and actually liked hahah so thank you. I’m happy to know fringe is back in since I thought it was only a Fall/Winter trend – and I bought a pair but only wore them once. And I’m dying to try out cut-out booties!
