After looking into aftershave, I came up with the following ones, trying to get something for every guy. If you cannot find these, do try to find aftershaves that are not cologne based – these are mostly alcohol and will be very hard on your skin. Avoid products with menthol. Use moisturizer often to gain the benefits of aftershave even more.

Okay, so forget everything my dad taught me about aftershave, and go for how it makes my skin feel?

Well, face lotion should be used as well as aftershave treatments. They are different, and we’ll get into lotion in another post.
What you think of as post-shave cream is as close as you’ll get to aftershave definitions.
When it comes to smell, don’t you think the crook of the neck is more cuddly to a woman than the chin? That’s where scent should go :)

Ah, see, that’s what a moisturizing lotion or post-shave cream is for to me :|
See, I’m all confused! To me, an aftershave is meant to compliment the smell of a bodyspray or cologne (nice and soft, so that when the girl gets close enough to be oh so kissable, there’s a unique smell there)…
But, then, I’ve never been known for many of my senses, so consider me ready to learn :D

Aftershave isn’t for the smell, that’s what the cologne is for. Not that I use it yet (will start looking for some based on this post though), aftershave should be for softening the skin to get that way-too-kissable face. Getting a scented aftershave would compete with the cologne or bodyspray smell and that could be dangerous.
That’s just my two cents though.

… I’m guessing the point of aftershave isn’t to smell good? If not, what is the point? I always buy aftershave based on smell…
