No matter what part of the world you are in, Fashion Week is all about celebrating old talent and ushering in new talent. There are many reasons why fashion lovers all over the world adore shows like Project Runway and the Fashion Show. These shows find great talent like Christian Sirano and Austin Scarlett of Kenneth Pool. Alexia Ulibarri is one of the many up and coming designers who showcased her collection at D’Fashion Week in Mexico City last week.
The Fall (or Invierno) 2009 collection was hip and fabulous. It was like something you would see wandering around Mexico City or trendy and fun areas of big cities like New York City or Los Angeles. I mean, me, in Texas wearing my hair like that? Ha!

I love the deep red color. It is very Fall. Maybe the color will continue throughout to other designers and I can find a top in this color when I finally come around to doing some Fall shopping (in the Fall!) This fit is snazzy, fun, and professional as well.

Gold was a great color for the summer and it appears to continue to be a great color for the fall season. Remember NYFW? Metallics were all over the place. It was like the Iron curtain all over again. The velvet I don’t quite know what to think about. You’ll have to be daring enough to try to pull this off in the real world. The skirt though, a must. A gold skirt? Sign me up!

Oh a leather jacket and a grey top. How original. I bet the pants/skirt that went with this were original, but from the top up this isn’t anything too spectacular. The hair on the other hand, as mentioned before…who would go out of the house like this? I know I wouldn’t! The model doesn’t even look very happy about the look. Oh well. Next year maybe we can get a good look for you señorita.
