Why do designers think that if they sew their names onto their clothing, I’m dumb enough to spend 10 times more money for that item? I’m sure most people don’t agree with me, but I just don’t get the attraction to designer clothing. Even if I was filthy stinking rich I couldn’t bring myself to waste the money. Does it make me a more attractive person if my sunglasses are made by some rich Italian, or if my purse and scarf were of a matching brown plaid? Perhaps these companies are on to something. Consumers are paying a lot of money to be walking billboards. In the sporting world it’s the other way around. ‘Athletes’ are the receiving the money to wear the sponsors name. I just don’t get it, and I don’t think I want to.
