Tonight on Style Network, expect to see all of your old favorite makeovers on a How Do I Look? best-of episode. Most makeover shows have people who need help dressing for home, work, life…you know the bit. How Do I Look? seems to drag out the real wackos and this episode puts them all together in one nice little package.

How Do I Look? beauty tip

loved the episode, never thought they would air someone hating the process all the way to the end. leave plum alone she is fine the way she is. you cannot mainstream everyone. just accept your friends despite their quirkyness. quit trying to make them a clone of you.
I was on the show… Taped 60 hours for a 1 hour show… They lie and they munipulate… You have no idea what you are in for… Reality really isn’t reality… I barley knew my “accomplices”… It was all a set up… You see what they want you to see…
i love plum for who she is.finola shouldnt have released the episode.bottom line, finola was unsuccessful in the episode which shows shes not great nor professional at all.so wad if she kept her cool, for awhile only?if shes genuine, she shouldnt have reacted the way she did and humiliating Plum by airing the episode.
Plum
I was shocked at just how childish and immature this person was/is. Why on earth go on this programme if she didn’t want to change? And why be so rude? Maybe’s she wanted to ’stick it’ to the Style Network, as in ‘No one tells me what to do’ or maybe’s she thought they’d say ‘Oh, you are so perfect, you are so confident, you don’t need to change anything’. She’s obviously not happy in her skin and needs some serious therapy.
Carole:
I strongly dislike ignorant people like you.
SO WHAT, if “Plum”, or any other person for that matter, dress to what you consider to be “ugly?
As long as the person is happy in what they wear, does it matter?
What really pissed me of about your post was this: “She would the person at the mall I pointed out to my girls to tell them that if they ever do anything like that they’ll be grounded for a year!”
I cannot exaggerate how closeminded that is.
As long as your daughters aren’t dressed up like tramps, I don’t see why you would go out of your way to discourage them from being different.
Wow. People like you make me hate the world we live in.
I just saw the epside for the third or fourth time. Plum did nothing wrong. She said that she wouldn’t mind changing, but not all at once like her ex-friends were trying to get her to do. They were trying to get her to dress just like everybody else. Well, guess what ? There’s more of us than there are of the jerks that dress like Plum’s friends. The way that Plum dresses isn’t some cover; it’s who she is. Just because someone doesn’t like how she/we dress, doesn’t mean that we need to be changed to be like every other american robot that can’t think for themselves and follow along with what boring, uptight white people think is stylish. I applaud Plum for sticking up for herself and keeping her great high self esteem, in spite of her fashion zombie “Plastics” so-called friends.
Finola is a YAWN, no energy, and this nasal vioce of hers that sounds like a goose, ugh, terrible! And the rules of the show are just idiotic, totally random and unfriendly. Besides, why cannot the victims themselves go shopping and learn how to dress and how to shop most efficiently.
I would like to get a photo of Alyssa Milano from a recent episode of How Do I Look.It ran in August of 2008.It was about a 43year old women that dressed like a hippie. If you can not help me would you please send me in the right direction. ThankYou Kim
When is someone going to take pity on poor Finola and nominate her a makeover?
I’ve read a lot of comments on the “Plum episode” and also watched it. I’ve always wondered about people who dress that way and what they were thinking. Obviously, I don’t care for it, but as hard as this is for me to admit as it makes me sound like a judgmental person, whenever I see someone who looks like her, I always wonder what made them decide to look as ugly as possible and be the subject of ridicule by most of society? Granted, beauty is subjective, but I find myself laughing internally whenever I see someone dressed like that and wonder who beat ‘em up with an ugly stick! Sure not saying my own style is great, but there are levels and her level was never going to get her where she wanted to go. She would the person at the mall I pointed out to my girls to tell them that if they ever do anything like that they’ll be grounded for a year!
I do know that many will disagree with me, but please give me the courtesy of expressing my opinion, just as I would do to you. Plum’s “style” was subjective – she thought she looked great, I thought she should be in a circus freak show – my opinion. I would never hire her, use her as a child counselor, or even want her around my kids as I feel she would be a bad influence because she wants to dress as she pleases and have no consequences. Well, honey, there are consequences for EVERYTHING! That’s what adults learn.
I felt sorry for her because I see her at 40, still dressed like that, looking older and harder, then the same at 50, etc.
I do not know how to dress nothing look good
I saw the show for the 2nd time this evening. While her friends were trying their darnest to be people that supported a person who was begging for change to move to the next level of their life; it was obvious that Plum was not ready for it. Hey if you can get a job cause that’s what she will get is a job not a career looking the way she was looking at 31 – goatit!
Kudo’s to her two friends who went out of their way, gave their time, and energy not to mention the sylist who did an awesome job with her hair. Gosh, Fiona you were great, I would have cussed her nasty, spoiled brat butt out!
Glenn I agree with you on this one. Plums style is awesome! Geez. It makes me think that noone’s ever heard of Miami, NYC, L.A.??? Hellllooooo! People live like this all the time! and I personally think that she had a great attitude. She has balls, attitude, smarts…Can’t mess with that B****!
Re: Plum. Yep, very immature and easily threatened to the point of not being able to acknowledge her friend’s good intentions BUT I thought her incoming style and look was TONS better than the outfits the show came up for her. so Plum open your heart but stick with your own fashion sense and ‘no heels’!

Thank you for the other comments; i just wanted to say that this beast Plum is a poser, and does she really believe that she is so freaking independent? She kept preaching about it throughout the show, a look that dated is not independent, it’s tired. And what person would want to spend any time with her, let alone HIRE her and be forced to spend time with her. Good luck in prison honey.
I never do this but I felt compelled to send this message after witnessing the most ungrateful contestant on the show that aired this evening. When I saw a previous comment on this person (her name is Plum), I was happy to see someone else feeling like I felt while watching this disgusting behavior. Finola handled it very well –with the utmost restraint and diplomacy. I frankly was wondering how it got aired in the first place but I guess it did make a point – that you can’t always find people who are appreciative of what they are being offered and accept it as a wonderful gift that has been given to them usually by friends who care very much for them. All in all I was a little aghast to see this Plum and her downright lack of manners. Kudos to her dear friends and the stylist (can’t remember his name – sorry!)
Oh my God, What was that all about? I just saw the episode with “Plum.” What a b—-!!! If I had been her best friend and hurt like that on national tv, she would have ate those high heels. Didn’t she ask to be on that show? How ungrateful can a person be?
Finola is great! A guest on her show named Plum was disgusting and appalling. Plum acted like a spoiled rotten brat. Obviously this girl hasn’t learned her lessons in life. Manners and appreciation may be harder to learn in prison! The best part of the show was seeing Finola telling her to leave the show at once. Creepy, very creepy!
