We all want to look like the Victoria’s Secret models as they strut down the runway. Head makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury offers a few tips for creating that flawless look at home in a video series, but she glazed over which exact products she was using on the model. Except, of course, for the Cupcake gloss created by Heidi Klum. Jeez, they made sure she plugged the hell out of that thing, didn’t they?
Read on for a rundown of Charlotte’s tips in written form, for those of us who need a little more than a three minute video series to make us look like an Angel.
How to get the Victoria’s Secret makeup look:
- Get skin flawless. Create smooth skin by moisturizing first, then applying a light layer of foundation. This should be followed with concealer to cover any imperfections. Go a couple of shades lighter to kill any dark spots or shadows.
- Get deep in the socket with a dark brown shadow, dragging it outwards. From the outer corner of the eye, connect the socket line with this point, to create the illusion of a wider eye.
- Blend the above using a fat shadow brush.
- Use the same rich brown color to line both lash lines, using short strokes. Follow this with a chocolate pencil liner for further definition.
- Apply mascara and fake lashes, if desired.
- Use a shimmer blush, and hit the cheeks, the bridge of the nose and the bow of the mouth.
- Line your lips slightly over the border of your natural lip line with a soft, neutral color like beige or soft pink.
- Finish with a lip color in a similar shade.
