Mineral Makeup Month – Jane Iredale.

Jane Iredale was the first ”to supply the aesthetics industry with a full-line of makeup based on minerals and the first to see the potential of offering physicians a makeup that was good for the skin.” She is an industry leader in Mineral Makeup and skin care, and could even be considered a pioneer.

base_loose Jane Iredale products are not to be confused with ordinary makeup or even mineral makeup. These are skin care products that double as makeup products.

The product range is complete, and the at first sight, you will notice how elegant the packaging is!

From Loose Mineral and Pressed Mineral Bases, a very unique Liquid Mineral Foundation, to blushes, bronzers, eye shadows, liners, pencils, mascaras, lip stick, lip gloss, balms, and beautiful kits, even brushes – this line has it all. Have I forgotten anything?

Now, this is a professional line only sold in spas, salons, and in dermatologists office – but the company now offers Jane Iredale Direct, where you can order her products right online – phew!

My favorite blush happens to be from Jane Iredale, in the shade Golden Apricot. And when I want to pull out the big guns and highlight my décolletage, I brush on her 24-Karat Gold Dust, in Gold, of course.

Calling all Jane Iredale devotees: what are you favorite Iredale products?

I love Jane Iredale products. My fav are the sugar and butter duo, lip drink and I love the pure pressed powder in Golden Glow. It took me a couple of tries to get everything right, but I am now a pro!! I would recommend this line to anyone, esp. if you have adult acne. It covers very smoothly. No caking or anything :)

Jane Iredale’s my favorite makeup line. I’m hesitant to put anything else on my face (and I love the luxurious gold packaging)! I reviewed her gorgeous Inner Light concealor on the green beauty blog I recently started, Eco*Pretty: ecopretty.blogspot.com.

I recently had a full face laser re-surfacing done, and the office I go to suggested Jane Iredale cosmetics. I had a woman apply some of this make up less than a month post-op. My face was still in the red=pink stage, and after she applied it, I thought it looked pretty good. So, about a week later I went on line and purchased $230.00 worth of products after doing some reasearch on mineral makeup.
When I applied the Golden Glow amazing base, it was all over my counter and in my sink. It was a MESS!!! I had a very difficult time getting the sifter top off and nearly spilled the whole thing.
The Bling Eyeshadow Kit looks horrid on me, and the Moonglow Blush has no color. The handi brush which is suppose to be of high quality, left black hairs from the brush on my face, and in my sink. I emailed the web site where I purchased these products and told them I wanted a refund for the brush, or a new brush. I am still waiting for a reply. I don’t know how to use the Dual Eye Liner/Brow Brush, and the Fan Brush was also a waste of money. NO thickness.
There are NO instructions on HOW to apply this over priced makeup, not even a step by step process. It took me a good hour or more to put this makeup on, and clean up afterwards. When I walked out the door, I felt like I looked like a hooker. Also, when you wash it off (I use Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser) it is impossible to get this makeup out of the wash cloth. It also rubs off on your clothing.
The only product I like out of this order is the Pure Lip Gloss, BUT…..it doesn’t stay on like it claims even with the pencil, which I also ordered.
Bottom line is: I don’t understand the *Hype* in these very pricey products, and I can assure you I won’t be purchasing anymore in the future.
I aslo emailed the website where I ordered these products to ask them if they had a step by step process in how to apply these products. Never heard back. Another thing is, everyone who sells these products make it clear that you cannot return them. If I don’t get a refund and/ or a handi brush replacement, I will be contacting Ms. Iredale personally.

Ooh – it looks like I will have to try Iredale Pressed Powder Base – seeing as I am on the hunt for a new foundation!

As a whole, I do not care for loose powder minerals – can’t deal with the mess – and my favorite foundations are usually powders or cream to powders.

Now, if I can only figure out which color is perfect for me ;)

My favorite JI products are the Active Light under eye concealer, and Pure Pressed Base. Love these and have repurchased both several times!

warm apricot is also my favorite blush, what a coincidence!

iredale’s products are luxe and i accept no substitute. although the liquid minerals did not work well for me, i love mixing the loose minerals with my dermalogica barrier repair for the most delightful mousse foundation i’ve ever experienced.

i have rosacea and iredale is a godsend.

Her Puremoist lipstick is fab, I also love her blush and “So Bronze” with the dual matte and shimmery bronze palette. Her purepressed base is great too!
