Oprah recently featured 5 fall trends for any age, where stylists took women from ages 20 – 60 and put them in the hottest looks for fall. Think a mature women can’t wear neon? Think again!

Neon - Ladies of any age can wear neon. The key is to find pieces that are classic shapes, which will prevent you from looking as if you aren’t sure what’s appropriate for your age.

Animal prints - Subdued animal prints in colors like black, white and gray are easier to wear than tan and brown.

Boyfriend jeans - Boyfriend jeans should be dressed up to avoid looking like you’re wandering around a picture from The Cobra Snake. Stylists put a prim, cropped jacket over a tank top on the 50-something model, along with flats for a chic, pulled-together look that will work for many outings.

Studs – The mature woman wants to sport studs in small doses. Instead of allowing them to be the focal point of the look (like a 20-something might do), allow them to serve as an embellishment on a classic piece such as a blazer or wide belt.

Slouchy blazer - You don’t have to follow a trend to the T. Let it inspire you and wear it how you feel comfortable. A slouchy blazer on a mature woman should be paired with slim underpinnings and pants for a modern twist on a trend you might have worn the first time around. Keep things tailored and streamlined and work with interesting neutrals like silver, gray, eggplant and navy.
