So far there have been 11 challenges, the last of which was the most inspirational for the designers, I would imagine. The remaining contestants on Project Runway 4 met Tim Gunn at the Met and from there were told to pick out one piece of art that would serve as their muse for the next challenge. While many delivered, Sweet P did not and so she was auf’d (and she should have been gone a long time ago, imho).
With four remaining, Christian won the challenge. The other three looks weren’t bad, especially Chris, whose dress evoked a gorgeous froth haute couture vibe. That’s some mean craftsmanship to pull off in that amount of time, and so I’m thinking Chris may have saved the best for last. Will we see him really pull out all of the stops in these few remaining challenges? If Wednesday night’s dress was an indicator, I sincerely hope so. Rami did yet another draped dress, but what bothered me so much about this look was the awful color he chose. Lavender on a model? Yikes. Jillian really impressed me with her look, but it was so not Jillian, that I’m weary of her trying to create things not in tune with her style in future challenges. That can be good because it forces you out of your comfort zone, but it can also be a disaster if not done properly. Sometimes a bad idea is just a bad idea.
At any rate, here are the three looks that stayed without winning. While Rami showed so much promise in the beginning I’m beginning to think he’s far too one dimensional to take home the gold.

So there they are. Drama from Chris, draped from Rami, and something good (finally) from Jillian.
We’re getting down to the wire: who’s your favorite?

Hey Chirs keep up the good work… and go all the way baby
