A new show is hitting Style Network and it’s called Ruby. The reality series will follow the life of Ruby, a 5oo pound woman, and examine what it’s like to be an obese woman in the world. Now this sounds like the best show ever or a huge disaster, so we’ll have to wait and see an episode before we state a verdict.
I’m thinking of it as the ultimate makeover show, since it will follow her as she takes the journey to becoming her better self. Heck, if she can do this on national television, surely I can work in a salad or two.

I love Ruby. I watch her show faithfully. I think that her friends are such good supports for her. They need to be commended. Ruby is very sweet. I love her bright and cheery personality. I do not have as much weight has her to loose, but i feel i can do it after seeing what she goes through.
I have enjoyed watching Ruby, and was really pleased to see her get some new clothes last night. She does need to be more positive about her diet, if she would really look at those pizza’s that she complained about being in her face, they were just terrible looking, her diet meal looked much more interesting. Of course one does not know what they taste like. I know that one can get “testy” when they think they are being deprived, however, this is a way of life for her now, she will never be able to eat those other foods and remain successful. She does need to work on realizing this. Also, one little complaint – stop whining I love you when you are not happy. Keep up your really stunning success and you will feel so good that you will eventually forget about the food challenges.
Ruby, you inspire me! I am really proud of the work you are doing for yourself and for other people in the same boat as you. I am recommitted to losing my weight for my health and to be able to win this war!
The show is one of courage. However, the one thing it forgets is that Ruby is a WHOLE person. I know weight is to be the focus here, but Ruby, I’m sure, is not one-dimensional– and that’s how she is portrayed. Style TV needs to feature her interests, her hobbies, a job, what touches her, etc. There is more to this beautiful woman than just her outside. Bring that to this show!
Ruby is such a beautiful woman, I will not miss an episode!!! Thank you Style TV for getting this womans struggle on the air so all of us can support her efforts and work right along side of her to reach our healthy goals, she is an inspiration!
I just watched Ruby and I realte to her so much being from the south. I grew up on southern foods and I too am over weight. I struggle with it everyday. I’m not as heavy as Ruby and I lead a normal life, but I know whats she going thru. Ruby is such a sweet, loving person and I want het to know she is a insepration to me. If she is getting these messages..”Hang in there Ruby you can do it.” Style network please make a page for Ruby so she can log on and see all her supporters out here.
I watched the premire of “Ruby” and was so glad to see that this show is approaching all of the aspects of Ruby’s life, not just her weight. The goal seems to be to get Ruby totally healthy – emotionally, mentally AND physically! I am so glad she has this support system, yet I envy her as well. I wish more of us that have struggled with such issues could have a place that gave us such support, without being unrealistic in goals and in prices. I wish Ruby all the best and look forward to more inspiring episodes!
I’m watching Ruby right now. I just love her!!!!!!! I am such a fan and would love to be her friend she is a beautiful person. I wish you all the love and the luck. I know you can reach your dreams and beyond.

I just watched the premiere of “Ruby,” and it really hit close to home. My 35-year-old brother is in the exact same situation as Ruby. He weighs a little more than her. And we’ve done everything we can to try to help him, but he’s refusing help. I’m so scared I’m going to lose him. It’s ripping my family apart, especially my parents.
This show will be a great motivator for others and give some hope to others in Ruby’s situation. I wish I could somehow connect Ruby and my brother so he can show that there are others out there like him.
I think Ruby is vibrant and beautiful…and as she gets healthier, she will only become more beautiful.
I just watched the premiere of Ruby and i am praying for her success. She is obviously a vibrant intelligent loving woman with an incredible support system of friends and family. All the Best to you, Ruby!
Ruby is Beautiful! I can’t wait to see her healthy!! I am a Weight Watchers leader and everyday i work with people…working on it!
all the best,
