A fuller figure makes shopping harder in nearly every aspect, but it makes shopping for jeans especially difficult. Everything from cut to wash comes into play when it comes to finding a pair of jeans that fits and flatters your shape appropriately.

How to Look Good Naked offers a few tips on how to minimize your figure when choosing jeans:

  1. Look for jeans that elongate the leg. This means looking for a pair of bootcut jeans (which will balance a heavy top half) that is cut slightly longer than your height, making for a clean, consistent line.
  2. Shop for dark rinse jeans. Avoid any embroidery or bulging back pockets, both of which will only add pounds to your frame.
  3. Look for a higher waist. This is difficult to find, but a higher waistline will almost act as a girdle, and keep from the dreaded muffin top happening. This is a great tip for women of all sizes, actually.
