Yves St.Laurent Dead at 71

The fashion world is mourning the loss of style and fashion icon. Yves St.Laurent passed away last night at the age of 71 in Paris, France.

St.Laurent retired from the fashion world in 2002 and became somewhat of a recluse. It’s said he’s been ill for some time. He is survived by his long time partner, Pierre Berge. His burial is planned for Thursday.

“I am shattered,” said Berge. “He was the first to put women in pants, the first to put them in tuxedos, the first to put them in masculine clothes, the first to employ black models,” he said. “He was audacious, he revolutionised the trade.
