Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, welcomed the new season with a new grandstand at Epsom Downs Racecourse today, April 22, 2009.
The‘Duchess’s Stand’, which has a capacity of 11,000, is most significant portion of a three year, £38 million project at the racecourse. The facility is an addition to the Queen’s Stand and the Prince’s Stand.
The Duchess enjoyed the venue’s first race of the season after meeting with Epsom schoolchildren and racegoers.
