It was announced by Clarence House that The Duchess of Cornwall is scheduled to have a hysterectomy in March. The operation will be performed at the private King Edward VII Hospital in London.
A statement described the surgery as “routine” and added that the duchess does not have cancer.
… The spokeswoman refused to discuss the reason for the operation, but said: “It’s something that’s being done on advice of her doctor, but is something that’s very common for women of that age.”
The Duchess will continue to carry out engagements prior to the operation, including a trip to Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates later this month. Her recovery after the surgery is expected to take six weeks.
