Denmark’s Royal Family Welcome Greek President

The Danish Royal Family, headed by Queen Margrethe, converged in Copenhagen today, May 18, 2009, to welcome the President of the Hellenic Republic Dr. Karolos Papoulias and his wife Mrs. May Panou Papoulias. Prince Consort Henrik, Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary and Prince Joachim accompanied the Queen.

The Greek dignitaries are in Denmark for a three day official visit, aimed to continue the strong historic bond between the two countries.

Crown Prince Frederik is accompanied by his wife Crown Princess Mary at the welcome ceremony. Prince Joachim came alone, as his wife Princess Marie is still recovering from the birth of their son earlier this month.
