The only reason for the 'lesbian kiss' was to get straight men to watch. Think about it, Andrew and his boyfriend are rarely together let alone kiss. I do agree with Jamie. I've watched the show since day 1 and I'm gay also. Stupid marketing trick...

i have a feeling that this is the beginning of the END of bree and orson's marriage.
i thought these two neat-freak perfectionists would be a perfect couple but i guess theyre both fighting for control over eachother. i wonder how long until they get divorced....

i loved the title the "OMG 2 GURLS R GUNNA KISS episode" LOL.

my heart broke for dave(and edie) at the end of this episode. =[

lmao! hilarious liveblog!

winners:

- Susan!!!! she was hysterical! ... and she got a new friend ... and let's not forget that she got a good evaluation ... that's a winner (even if she likes pity).

- Lynnette! ... new job, good salary ... and she was hilarious whan she said to Tom "nobody cares about your age" lol! hahaha

- Dave ... he was really good during the whole episode ... his plans are going the way he wanted ... so yes, he's a winner, an evil one, but a winner.

- Juanita ... yes, she only got one scene, but she was hilarious ... AND she confronted Bree!!! lmao! she confronted the most terrifying wife on the street! hahaha ... Juanita is a winner in my list.

losers:

- Bree ... I loved her ... she was so funny during the whole episode ... but she spent the entire hour returning things that Orson had stolen ... and she even had to paid for a shrek for her husband ... when , let's face it, she needs a psychiatric evaluation too...

- Carlos ... his ex girlfriend is NOT attractive at all ... his wife is spying on him and he doesn't even know ... yes, he got a promotion, but he's actually gonna have problems having Lynnette at the office all the time. I was surprised that he didn't notice why Gaby told him to hire Lynnette, he usually picks up on that sort of things ...

- Katherine ... come on woman! wake up! Dave is using you!!!

great episode! can't wait for next week's!

Oh! My other half and I were just talking about something that's been bothering us. A bit of a plot hole, if you will...

If Tom Scavo knew that Baby Matt Damon was turned in by Dave as the suspect of the fire -- and he (Tom) punched Dave in his doorway a few episodes back, why wasn't this mentioned amongst (or to) the housewives; and furthermore -- why didn't the word get out about what a sociopath he (Dave) was? You know how those housewives love to gab...

I think the show was full of winners, but I'm not going to pick any this week.

I just wanted to give Amy a heads-up over on IMDB about the plot lines for the upcoming shows on that site.

The next episode: "A Spark to Pierce the Dark" -- http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1263195/

(Check out the plot for that episode? I don't know who wrote it, but if you look at it; it's obviously written by some whackjob...)

But the following episode's plot (written by "anonymous") looks much more feasible (Ep. #5.19) The link is here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1263196/

A grown-up Travers played by Stephen ("Bratz: The Movie") Lunsford will appear, and Holly ("Charmed") Marie Combs will be guest stars.

I, too, loved Swoosie Kurtz! I've loved her since "Sisters", back in the day... (I'm dating myself here, aren't I?)

One last thing: I disagree somewhat on the lesbian kiss tactic to lure in viewers. This was good timing when you think about it.

Let me try to explain, in my humble opinion why this was a smart move.

We all know that Desperate Housewives is fantastic. But maybe there are a few people out there who haven't had the opportunity to see it or know what we, the viewers, have known all along. It probably has mostly female viewers, a lot of gay viewers (such as myself) and a few straight male viewers. Maybe if the lesbian kiss were brought up at, say, the water cooler, a couple of guys here and there who might just think how hot that is might just tune in. And we all know that the show is chock-full of sexy women... Perhaps a ploy to garner some male viewers? (What straight guy doesn't want some 'eye-candy' every now and again -- right?) And if -anyone- saw the previews for next week's show -- they will most likely be watching it. I think the next couple shows are going to be HUGE ratings successes. Probably the best we've seen this season.

Then again -- maybe I don't know what I'm talking about.

In regards to what you said here: "Here’s a thought: Let’s rely on fantastic writing, stories, character development and acting for rating, eh?"

They already have that. But viewership is down -- I'm not entirely sure because of the show itself, but because of the wider array of shows and the larger selection of channels...

Let's just watch the ratings for the next couple (or the final few) episodes and see if it worked. We know Edie's going to die, but that's not going to be the season cliffhanger...

It was #8 on the Nielsen Ratings list for Network TV last week. I'm wondering how the lesbian ploy worked...

p.s. I love it when you do your live blogs. Ad-libs and all. :-)

Tonight is a tough call ! Who's a winner ? There are far more losers than winners but I have to pick some and leave some...

Winners - Orson : In this whole marriage I'm beginning to see that if Orson lost the wife - he'd be a winner. I was with Bree until the shrinker's meeting where she really showed she need a cold shower and a reality check.

Lynette: She got a job with a big salary even though she was being used by Gabrielle. But let's face it, Lynette isn't above using people and I'm really looking forward how this buisiness relationship between Carlos and Lynette will develop in the future. Remember those season 1 ( or 2?) few scenes between them ?

Susan : She used and then dropped the ball on Suzy and then she got to keep her job. Nonetheless, an episode with Susan not trying to woo some guy - but a girl - is a keeper in my book.

Losers - Katherine: I usually agree with the webmaster's take on the show but not on Katherine. I really like the character and I think that the Katherine-Mike coupling is far more believable than the Susan-Mike. I'm really affraid for next week's episode I want to see Katherine in next season's episodes ! But if Mike's got to visit the hospital next week, it would actually make more sense for the writers to keep him there as he's been in a hospital bed in every freaking season of Desperate Housewives, hasn't he ?

Gabrielle: Comon Gaby ? Why the jealousy ? Would Carlos make the same mistake he did back then with that whorish non-english speaking maid ? Yeah... well. That face Gaby made when Carlos touched her ex's «hotness» on the butt was hilarious.

Bree : The new man-eater of the show ? Does she have to emasculate her so, her husbands and everyone in between ? I never really liked Orson anyway...
