I’m SUPER excited for tonight’s show. There’s so much going on. M.J. might get killed. Orson’s threatening Bree. Some hot girl is moving in with Carlos and Gaby. Neighbor Peggy’s back to watch the finale, and Friend Erin — who really couldn’t have cared less about the show a few months ago — is here watching, without any persuasion from me. Just doin’ my job and creating new fans every day. (On that note, I hear from my mother that my sister watches every week, too, even though she’d never admit it to me herself.) I have nothing to hide. I love “Desperate Housewives.” More than I love the show itself, I love the season premieres and finales. So quit yer jabberin’, and watch the show, Amy!
9:01: “The thing you have to understand about Dave Evans…” YES. We’re wating no time. We start with Crazy Dave, and we start with him video taping himself. “I didn’t want to kill M.J. Delfino. I had to.” Erin isn’t understanding why I think Crazy Dave is good-looking. I obviously can’t explain why. He just is.
9:02: Are we going to get a lot of M.J. in this episode? It seems likely. He’s a cute kid, I just hope he doesn’t talk/try to acft much! Yeah, yeah. Peggy’s right about him “being like 4 or something.” NO EXCUSE. Dakota Fanning has been a fantastic little actress since she was in the womb. Jus’ sayin’.
9:04: Finally. We’re seeing what happened to the doctor. It’s about time? I just don’t get how we’re supposed to buy that everyone on the show is so dense to have no brought this up earlier?
9:05: Lily Tomlin’s name just flew across the screen in the credits!!! I’m calling it right now: The Old Lady P.I.s are going to crack the entire case.
9:06: This is the FIRST time that Susan’s raising her eyebrows about Dave’s craziness. Again: Why is it fiiiiinally happening NOW?
9:07: So I heard Crazy Dave say “It’s fine, I’m just trippin’.” But he really just said “It’s fine, it’s just a trip.” I like my version better.
9:09: I wonder how much longer Gaby can keep responding to Juanita’s questions with a “because, that’s what grownups do.”
9:10: “Spend some time at the intersection of right leg and left leg?” — Karl. This is why I love him. Did I need a reason? Can we rename this show “Desperate Househusbands.” Please? They’re all soooo much more desperate than the wives. Tom? Orson? DAVE? Hellooooooo, desperation!
9:12: Jackson’s thinking that MIke turned him in. This is only going to serve the purpose of causing Susan to think about Mike still wanting her, right? The Jackson/Susan nuptials are off, most certainly, and I think we can safely say that Mike and Katherine aren’t going to get married, either. So…Susan and Mike? Ross and Rachel?
9:17: We saw this scene where Tom’s telling Lynette that he wants to go back to school in the sneak peeks, and every time I’ve seen it, I just think Lynette’s going to chop her finger off. She didn’t the first time. Or this time.
9:19: This Sex-And-The-City scene where the ‘wives are debating about what to do with Tom’s newfound interest in Chinese isn’t working for me. Susan’s whiny enough to be Charlotte, but not traditional enough. Lynette’s too smart to be Carrie, Gaby’s too hot to be Miranda, and let’s face it — the one who WOULD be Samantha died in that unfortunate electrical accident. Also, doesn’t Lynette/Felicity sound like her nose is stuffy? Poor lady.
9:20: Ha! I love Gaby! “Isn’t it just easier to shut down your hoo-haw until he lets you in?”
9:23: Katherine’s unbelievably pitiful oin this scene. There’s nothing likable about her crying, begging her fiance’s ex not to reveal that she was faking an engagement to said fiance.
9:29: Gaby’s not only reverting back to her old, snarky ways — she’s gone farther, with calling Carlos’ family trash, etc, etc. How many times are we going to watch her fail at teaching her children (just Juanita, actually) some lesson, only to learn it herself?
9:31: Aunt Connie has something to say! She’s pregnant? No? She’s getting married? She’s moving in with Carlos and Gaby? Meh. My ideas we were better than her needing someone to take her granddaughter in.
9:34: OH MAN. This scene with Orson letting Bree have it is AWESOME. “You’d actually send your wife to prison?” “My wife? No. My ex-wife? Yes.” How’s that manipulation advice you gave Lynette working for you NOW, Bree?
9:36: Carlos is only getting nicer and Gaby’s just going further and further into the depths of MeaniePants Valley. It’s a deep, dark valley, and I think she’s not near the bottom, yet.
9:37: Although I’m mildly impressed that Lynette didn’t just delete the message about Tom’s test date change, is tricking him into getting drunk the best response?
9:42: So, I know we KNEW Dave was crazy, but I am LOVING THIS SCENE with all the ghosts of Crazy Dave’s past. And now he’s got a gun. This…can’t get better!
9:47: Tom puking tequila in the parking lot? Giggling at the word “Uranus”? “Sounds like he’s ready for cooollege.” — Peggy.
9:48: Mike and Katherine getting married THIS weekend? I mean, it’s not like I expecting anything less from the finale, but in reality, Katherine was really happy about getting engaged. Would she settle for a quickie Vegas wedding?
9:49: Dave’s walking up to M.J. to shoot him?? What! And then Susan just stopped him! I so wanted to see that happen! (Note: I’m sorry I’m wishing for a child to get shot. It’d just be so much more shocking than anything we’ve seen…and let’s face it: sista’s always had a morbid curiosity, and always will.)
9:54: It’s almost 10 and although the episode is flowing well, it seems like it’s just a long episode to me. They’ll be pulling out all the stops in the second half, right?
9:55: IT’S ROBEEEERTA! “I’m right in the middle of my breakfast.” Yes! You can just see the “Golden Girls” oozing out of these two. We’re certainly laying the groundwork for their spinoff….
9:57: Jackson just can’t believe Dave is capable of locking him in the closet? Why are people SO SHOCKED THAT DAVE IS AS CREEPY AS HE SEEMS?
9:59: Three years earlier! YES! We’re going to see them before the accident!
10:03: Katherine: “Dave always gives off a weird vibe, it’s just Dave.” IF YOU GUYS THOUGHT THAT, THEN WHY HAS IT TAKEN US THIS LONG TO START DOUBTING HIM? All this stuff here that I’ve written in bold — I’ve pretty much yelled at the TV. Just thought you should know.
10:06: Erin just said she thinks Karl’s lawyering for both Orson and Bree because he doesn’t seem that surprised by Orson finding out about them breaking into the house.
10:07: Lynette’s looking sickly. You guys have been calling it for a while now that she’s pregnant, and you’re probably right on. They’re going to make us think she’s got cancer first, though.
10:08: Commercial break. We’re all talking about which one we’d want to hang out with if we had to hang out with a wife. We all agree on Lynette, most definitely. Peggy says she’d want to set Susan on fire. That’s not nice.
10:13: These scenes with the Old Lady P.I.s are pretty priceless, but they’re also OBVIOUSLY setting up the character profiles and creating a dynamic for a spinoff.
10:14: Who is this guy? He’s just strangling Orson?? Karl put him up to it? What? Where? When? Why?
10:16: Ana’s GORGEOUS. Also, she’s not blood-related to Carlos, yes? Are we going to see the reverse of John Rowland season one? [post liveblog note: She IS related to Carlos. We here at DesperateBlog do not condone incest. We do, however, love watching drama. Even if it gets trashy.]
10:21: YES! Ana’s eyeing the Baby Matt Damons/got them to clean the house. Is it just me or is this storyline almost better than the Dave-killin-M.J. line?
10:27: There it is! Lynette’s pregnant! “Are you sure it’s not cancer?”
10:31: Oh, Katherine just accidentally pushed the camera, playing the tape that Dave created that. We knew that had to happen at some point or another.
10:34: I think Mike’s going to die. I don’t know where I got that from. Just a hunch. Would you miss him? I would, and then we’d only be left with Katherine and M.J. and Susan. I want none of that.
10:35: OMG OMG OMG OMG! KARL AND BREE! THIS IS THE HAPPIEST DAY OF MY LIFE! “My knees haven’t buckled, yet.” Erin and I are both making loud shocked squeaks. Peggy thinks we’re funny. We’re just too happy/excited/shocked to contain. Didn’t I call this?
10:36: Mike calls SUSAN before he calls the cops. And also can’t call his WIFE-TO-BE WHO HE LEFT AT THE AIRPORT?? I’m having the biggest conniption EVER right now. Why can’t anyone on Wisteria Lane ever listen to me?? Speaking of, something within the past few scenes has really endeared me to Katherine. Do I just feel sorry for her?
10:41: Tom gets just as excited about office supplies as I do!!! I wish I had school to go to so I could buy a 36-count of Crayolas. Only without the school part.
10:43: Lynette’s telling Tom she’s pregnant. “With a baby?” Are they gonna be considering abortion? Tom always wanted the babies before and convinced her to have more…but now they’ve both got the job and school…and another set of TWINS on the way?
10:45: My eyes looked down for a second, typing, and I heard Susan fall. I didn’t want to look up. “Did she just trip?? Did she just trip? Please tell me she didn’t just trip.” Peggy and Erin: “Yep. She tripped.” Ugh. She tripped.
10:46: “Mommy wake up. I get to drive the boat.” I can’t get past his horrible acting. Sweet jeebuz.
10:51: I just realized why I’ve been more interested in the Bree/Karl and Ana storylines than the major “OMG Dave’s even Psychoer Than We Thought” storyline: It’s because the major plot is only great in that last 10-15 minutes. Case in point, this episode.
10:54: Six minutes left! What’s going to happen? God, Teri Hatcher can be a fantastic actress when she’s really working for it/when the writers give her something to actually act about!
10:55: Gauranteed that Dave made M.J. get out of the car before the crash. He realized he couldn’t kill a kid, no matter how crazy he was.
10:56: Yep. Just tried to kill himself. And Susan and Mike kiss??

I have just finished watching season 4 last night and I can handle Lynette’s criminal sons, gabby looking like a housewive with kids (?!?!) but Mike? Where the hell is mike what happened and who is this new guy? From what I gathered something happened to maynard…some kind of accident? and who is dave? Please will someone fill me in!
Just a little update to my Desperate Theories.
I believe it was Susan under the veil during filming as the hair appeared Dark. I think the actual person will turn out to be Katherine as it states in the end.
(He wondered if he did the right thing) The bells tell him he had.
So it only makes since for this to be Katherine as Susan would be a sure thing as they are still so interested in each other.
Also the Dave escaping and returning to haunt susan one last time could be more empowering if she was single. Also could cause Mike to check in her an MJ a little more. Causing a final divide between him and Catherine.
Thats it…. (hope you enjoy my desperate analysis, Mark Cherry is surely a great writer that can twist any story line)
I am such a desperate fan. I have been following desperate housewives since it first aired.
I do love the spoilers also as they do not always equal up to the story line.
I will give my opinion about the future of season 6. (MY Desperate theories)
I believe we will not find out who Mike marries until the 2nd or 3rd episode. I feel there will be a little Katherine, Susan and Mike triangle thing still (I have read Katherine will be returning for season 6 and the love triangle will continue) So I think Mike will Marry Katherine this would be the only possible way to keep the love triangle interesting. I think it will take a couple of episodes to lead up to the characters being at the wedding again. Mike Delfanio is getting boring and marrying susan would not help his Character. I do not believe Jackson had his just due his accident so it could be possible to bring him back for a few episodes. If Susan and Mike ever married then there characters would become boring.
There could possibly be a variation to this!!!
Dave is in in the Instituion instead of prison because he has been deemed mentally incomp, to stand trial. This also leaves the fear factor of him possibly returning to haunt Wisteria Lane one final time. This could be very possible in the first 2 episodes especially as he could capture Susan and MJ to finish them off, then Susan gaining the energy to Kill him off with a gun she obtained from sinister Bree. (which episodes earlier has revealed she carries a gun)
I look for the Bree character to start replacing Edie in behavior. It is already starting which Karl. Which susan will not appreciate at all. Remember Edie also had a fling with Karl. Bree is changing and changing quickly.
Katherine might take on more of a Bree Role as domestic goddess.
Lynette will debate abortion but possibly have a miscarriage. I think it is time to shake up with a little controversy in the next season. Look for time finally get a job.

Could be possible for a lynette divorce if the children turns out to be Carlos. I do not believe that story line is quite finished. They might elect to leave tom and lynette together since they are the only couple that has not divorced.
Gaby and Carlos is getting boring. The new teen character is just to shake up the show. There has not been any teen romance in a while and it is time to recapture the teen audience. Could be a little love triangle between her and the Scavo twins and other people. Gaby brings alot to the DH Wisteria lane but it could be possible her character lasts only a couple more seasons. (I have read she wants to move to France with Tony Parker after DH, with it going 2013, could be possible she elects to speed things up) If she divorced Carlos and Carlos went with Lynette this could really shake her character up to be exciting again. Everbody being mommy is no longer exciting.
It is time for a couple of single DHs without Children. Bree and another Character could full fill this roll. I look for Bree not to remarry anytime soon. I think Karl will release her wild side and she will move on. It is time for Orson to show his vicious side one last time, they have made him a very unstable character over the last few episodes.
As DH is always good for gay characters, it might be time to make one more main stream. I think bob, lee, and andrew has always been testing the water.
There will be an empty house on Wisteria, so I am sure a new person will be moving in Edie’s old house. Katherine is living in the old mystery place so no one can movie in there. I think they are not quite finish with her character.
Season 5 has really been a spring board for future seasons.
DH, always does well keeping a diverse audience and diverse age group. Every character timely placed to replace another.
Julie, I do feel will return and become a new type of vixen on Wisteria. Remember a few episodes past she told her mother she did not want to get married. Means they will have to slowly add a few new young male characters mid season. When they clear some other characters out of the way.

Orson, is disposable
Dave, is disposable
If Mike and Katherine does not do something, then him and Susan could be….
So season 6 characters will slowly start to change….. In my opinion.

I found this blog a year ago and I want, first of all, to say thanks to amy. Every day I take a look here, expecially before an episode. The season finale, even if this season wasn’t at the same level as the previous, was great, and I liked at most BREE+KARL, and the way that Karl has put out the evil/bad side of Bree….She’s so hot!!!
I think that the bride is Susan, and the kiss with MIke was amazing…I hope this ‘cos I really hate Kat.
What do U think about the misterios man/woman who will be back on W.Lane next season? Cherry said that he/she returned in the last few minutes but the thing didnt go and so everything is delayed in season 6. Could be Paul young? I hope it will be Felicia….who would U like to see?
1 more thing…I like the title of the finale “If its only in your head”…referring to how mike had “weird” vibes from dave and how we should follow our instincts.
Did youguys watch Eva Longoria-Perker’s E! True Hollywood Story yet? It came on yesterday.
My favorite part was when Felicity, in an interview, said “I think the most challenging part of working with Eva is, hmm….when shes drunk. Which is ALOT.” and she laughs and says “But when shes sober shes fantastic!”

I think they might make Lynette think about getting a abortion. But to keep their religious fans maybe she will got through with it and then have some kind of nervous breakdown afterward and feel regretful. My entire summer is going to be spent waiting for this show to come back on!.

Well, I have to say it, I was SHOCKED to see Nicolette in the finale, I had a grin for like 5 minutes…I just love her and it’s sad she’s no longer in the show.
Second, I was expecting some more action and death in the finale but mhh…it was ok, the cemetery part was really intense, loved Teri’s acting there.
Bree & Karl + possible infidelity = COOL
I do hope is Katherine beneath the veil, I’m tired of watching Mike & Susan go on and off, I hated Susan the entire season for being still in love with Mike, even if it was deep inside of her. There may still be something going on in the future with Jackson…perhaps?
So what would be the mystery with Ana? I’m wondering…

AAH. BREE AND KARL. most definitely, i LOVE IT. I was freaking out at my tv.
But oh my, those last 20 minutes or so were hard to watch. That was just sick.
DAVE’S STILL ALIVE? i thought he would die. And what was with the zooming in to his eye and the “I’ll always have time for my girls”, that was odd.
MIKE+SUSAN. Of course. It’s definitely Susan. No question.
It wasn’t the best finale of the show’s run for sure.
What a disapointment : Katherine deserves an happy ending and she got Mike stolen from her by Susan. This is sad, sad, sad. So sad, I was rooting for Mike to die in the final moments. Well we all do know that it’s Susan under that veil.
The pairing of Karl and Bree is great, we can only expect great things from this. Ok Orson and Mike should get killed : I got that off my chest once more.
I don’t really care for the Gabrielle/Carlos story, they’ve had a very boring season. This couple is better fighting and in jail than with kids although I like the fact that Gabrielle is turning her fat kids into selfish little brats. I really am missing Gabrielle/Carlos from season 1-2.
I have to point out something: Lynette should get an abortion – and I don’t care if religious zealots won’t like it. My mom once had cancer and she was told to avoid getting pregnant after because cancer feeds on pregnancy hormones. So it would be logical for Lynette to get an abortion.
I hope the producers and writers start using Katherine a lot more next season. Oh, and bring back Felicia if we need a bitchy/evil replacement to Edie.

I’m already skipping to the next season..I think Susan was the one Mike married and Katherine is going to take Edie’s place as the home-wrecking jealous woman on Wisteria Lane.
I loved this finale. Do you think Lynette would get an abortion? They need more controversy on the show, but I don’t think they would make Lynette into an unlikable character. But she is only 17 weeks at the end of the finale which means she can still get an abortion if she wanted to(24 weeks is the limit) Maybe she will and then regret it later. Or maybe she wont get one at all…
I kind of feel bad for Dave now. All he wanted to do is die to be with his wife and kid, and he didn’t even succeed with that. And the grin he had on his face at the end of the finale in the mental ward just broke my heart. Did he suffer brain damage after the crash or something? Because he should really be in prison as a convicted killer for murdering his old doctor, shouldn’t he?
I love how Gaby is suddenly raising a teenager out of nowhere. And I love even more how her teenager got not just the twins, but ALL 3 of the Scavo boys cleaning her house. I think this was my favorite story line in the finale.
Oh and you guys are right about Terri/Susan. She can act very well when she has to. All of the women have their shining dramatic moments, but Felicity is still my favorite actress on the show.
And you’re also right about the “househusbands” being more desperate than the wives. I think Tom has been the most desperate of them all this season. it started with him losing his business, losing his car, trying to be “cool” with his teenage sons, wanting a face lift, joining a band, joining an all female gardening group…and now hes gonna have to possibly be a stay at home dad (of twins) all over again. i remember when preston and porter made him nearly break his back when he was a stay at home dad a few seasons ago. im feeling really bad for him right now..lol
Anyways I liked the season finale, even though no one died on this one(thats a first)
I was very disappointed with the finale. although it did have its moments (i’m excited for the bree / karl mix and what he’ll bring out in her character) … the Crazy Dave scene dragged on WAYYYY too long. I don’t care about who mike marries, not a big enough shocker. Excited to see what happens with Lynette – but I must say that this was the worst finale yet.
Best blog yet Amy. I was disappointed in the season finale. What do we have to look forward to all year? All we wonder about is who is behind the veil and will Lynette and Tom have another set of twins.. hardly as nerve-wrenching as watching a woman detonate a hydrogen bomb!

Susan (Teri) was magnificent, especially in this episode. I thought MJ was cute as a button. Well, buttons aren’t really cute, are they? Whatever.

I thought Katherine was endearing as well. But she’s expendable now. Unless she married Mike. I may be in the minority here, but I sincerely hope it was SUSAN under that veil.
