Mary Alice starts by telling us that Gabby is a demanding shopper. Whatever purchase she makes, she expects the best. Now her expectations were being put to the test as she was shopping for a baby and there was a problem with the manufacturer.A woman went to meet them at their house and she was really ugly. Gabrielle pulls Carlos aside and tells him she doesn’t want an ugly woman’s baby. Carlos objects claiming that all he wants is a baby and looks aren’t important. Gabrielle, however, is set on having a good looking mom/baby combination.Once back in the living room with the pregnant woman, Carlos starts to notice just how unattractive she is, and they then reject the offer to get that woman’s baby.As the expectant mother was driving away , Mary Alice said “yes…Gabby had always been a demanding shopper because she knew that there were some purchases that can’t be returned”.Later, at the lawyers office Gabrielle and Carlos are looking at pictures of pregnant women and Gabby said “one is uglier than the next”.
The lawyer said he found one more who is definitely attractive but doesn’t have the best character. She walks in, her name is Libby and she’s a sexy stripper. Carlos and Gabby are excited that she is so attractive. She told them she was a pole dancer at a strip club. They asked who the father was, she said she didn’t know, that many times guys bought her drinks and she got carried away…
She asked if she’d get presents for giving them her baby because one of her friends gave up her baby and got a motorcycle. Carlos says they can’t afford one but they would get her something. She later won’t give the Solis family custody of her child because they’re Mexican. Gabby is furious. She tells Carlos they can’t judge on the color of skin and he said just like she’s judging on looks and Gabby replied “I read the constitution and it doesn’t protect ugly people”Gabrielle goes to see Libby at the Strip club and finds out that she really has nothing against Mexicans, she just wants more gifts and money from them. Gabby gives her her 3 k diamond necklace and promised more to come. Gabby told Libby “you’re smarter than I thought” and Libby said “I’m smarter than everybody thinks”.
Lynette
In this episode Lynette is hiring a new employee for her company named Veronica. She’s trying to convince her to join by telling her about the perks they can offer. Veronica wasn’t sure she wanted the job but when Lynette heard she was breast feeding her son, she showed Veronica the day care and she accepted the job offer as long as she was allowed to breast feed during work hours. Lynette agreed.
Lynette, Ed and others then saw Veronica breast feeding her son who turned out to be 5 years old. They told Lynette to ask her to stop. She suggested to Veronica that Donovan her son was a little old and Veronica told her the pros of breast feeding, including that it raises kids IQ scores. As she’s telling Lynette that, Lynette’s boys were making a mess in the day care and Veronica turned to Lynette and said “had you weaned them later, they’d me more civilized” and said if the office wasn’t happy about her breast feeding, they could talk to her lawyer.
Later Donovan went to see Lynette saying he wanted his mom because he was thirsty. Lynette was drinking chocolate milk and gave it to him. He had a big smile on his face.Later Lynette saw Veronica crying in the office and she asked what was wrong. She told her that her son wasn’t interested in breast milk anymore and then complained that she’d have to join a gym because she’d gain weight now. (another Gabby??)Bree
Bree was at her AA meeting. When asked to talk, she said she couldn’t top the speech of the guy before her. At the coffee table, she was cleaning up all the crumbs and arranging the napkins etc.. and a man started talking to her. Asked her when she stopped drinking and she told him she wasn’t an alcoholic and tells him about Andrew. He gave her his card and said if she ever had a problem or felt like talking to call him. She says she won’t need it because she doesn’t have an obsessive personality, then cut to the perfectly straightened napkins she rearranged.
Bree then brought food up to Andrew and his lawyer. Andrew told her she wouldn’t have to do that if she’d let him go to his lawyer’s and she said she will “retain my parental rights to ground your sorry behind until kingdom come”
The lawyer told Andrew they need to convince her that it’s in her best interest to let Andrew go.Later Bree’s at Macy’s finishing a glass of wine. She asks for the bill, then sees Andrew and Justin at the cash. She asks what he’s doing there, he is grounded and that he has no money to buy anything. He had her credit card and she took it back. He tells her that she should give it back or he’ll tell the authorities that he is remembering all the abuse he took as a child. He said the angrier he gets the more he remembers the repressed memories of Bree touching him in places she shouldn’t have. She told him they won’t believe that and he said they may not believe it, but they will always wonder.Bree is furious! Andrew then takes the card back from her and says “c’mon Justin, I’ll buy you something pretty”.Bree goes back to the bar and asks for a glass of wine and tells the waiter to leave the bottle there.Later she’s passed out in the changing rooms, and the store is closed. She tries to get out and gets stuck between the bars of the store at the door. She calls the guy who gave her his card and he shows up with a security guard who let her out. She was sitting in the guy’s car and tells him about Andrew and said “it’s no wonder I drink”. She tells him he should’ve known her when Rex was alive and her kids were young and said “you really would’ve liked me” and he said “I like you just fine” and she said (holding back the tears) “really? because I don’t” :’(Applewhite’s
Matthew asks Betty to borrow 50$ to buy Danielle a birthday gift, she refuses and tells him to write her a poem. He tells her he hates to beg for money and hates that she won’t let him get a job. Suggests putting Caleb away, he needs help. She doesn’t want to. Caleb comes down and asks if they’re fighting. Betty said “no” Matthew was just asking for money to buy Danielle a birthday gift. Matthew said he wants to get her something nice like jewelry and Betty gave him 20$ and said he can’t spoil her too much.
Later Danielle gets home and is calling for Andrew and “mom” but no one is home. Walking to her room, she sees the door a little open. She walks in and Caleb was sitting on her bed. She asked him what he was doing there and he showed her a broach and said “happy birthday”. She tells him to leave. He asks her if she’ll wear it and she says no and says “didn’t you hear me you freak? Leave!” Caleb looking upset walks down the hall to leave, she closes the door and rests standing behind it.
Susan
Dr.Ron went to see Susan the day she was being released and asked her who Mike was. She insisted she didn’t know a Mike. He asked who she was married to and Susan tells him the story. He says “you swear you’re going to divorce him?” and she swears she will, he then says “and you’re sure you’re not in love with a guy named Mike” and she hesitates and says she’s sure. She invites him over for dinner to meet Karl. At dinner Karl and Ron are getting along great. Karl and Ron said they’ll do the dishes and when Ron kisses Susan , Karl seems jealous. (Susan had told Karl the story about Mike and Ron etc… earlier)
Karl goes into the kitchen and sees Mike get home. He loosens the pipes under the sink and as Karl and Ron are doing the dishes, Ron notices pipes leaking. Karl tells him to go across the street, a plumber “Delfino” lived there. Ron goes to Mike’s and tells him about the leak at Susan’s. As Mike is getting ready he tells Ron “you can call me Mike” (because he asked “Mr.Delfino” to help). Susan freaking that Karl sent Ron to Mike’s leaves the house in her wheelchair and falls out of it.In the meantime Ron and Mike are talking and Mike says that he and Susan used to date.Ron runs out and yells “liar” to Susan as she’s trying to get back in her chair, he kind of knocks her over again. Mike comes out and he and Ron start to argue. Ron drives off and Susan is upset that Mike made her lose her boyfriend.Later Mike shows up at Susan’s (said Julie let him in) and asks how she could let Ron talk to her like that. She tells him she deserved it. He asked what she did and she just tells him that she said something to him before she underwent surgery. Julie then brings Susan the phone and says it’s Ron. Mike said they can talk about it later and Susan said “what’s the point?” and Mike left.Mary Alice then says
at that precise moment as doctor Hanson Mills was cutting yet another umbilical cord, other ties were being severed all over town…
like the one between a child and a mother who didn’t want him to grow up so quickly
-we see Veronica with Donavan
or the one between a case of fine wine and the housewife who hadn’t wanted to admit she had a problem
-we see Bree with wine
or the one between the woman and the boyfriend who wouldn’t forgive her betrayal
-Dr.Ron on the phone
the choice to sever from what we love is painful
-we see a guy with his arms around Libby and her belly and he says “how are my girls?” and she answers they’re doing good.
the only thing worse is when someone we’ve trusted has made the choice for us via EZboard and dhousewives

Episode 217 Recap: "Could I Leave You?"
I was so tired when we got back last night from San Diego that I didn’t feel like I could recap last night’s episode properly so I found it on another site.
It was a fantastic episode. My favorite parts were when Lynette and the office gang realized that their new employee was breast feeding a 5 year old! eeeewww! Also the scene when Gabrielle and Carlos meet Libby, the pregnant stripper. Gabrielle says “Now this I can work with”. She’s so funny! Then later when Carlos and Gabby find out Libby doesn’t want to give them her baby because they’re Mexican Gabrielle gets upset and Carlos says something about how it’s the same kind of prejudice Gabrielle has against ugly people. Then Gabrielle says the funniest line. “I read the constitution and it doesn’t say anything about ugly people”. hehe.
Anyway, Enjoy:

[...] Hehe…I’m depraved…Have you seen the Desperate Housewives episode where Lynette has to fire a new employee because she’s grossing out her coworkers by breast feeding a 5 year old? I imagine that with tits like those, Pamela Anderson’s kids would try to suck on them for a long time…and then have loads of therapy. [...]
