Eva Longoria has agreed to star in an H.E.B. Super Bowl commercial. I grew up in Texas and we shopped right down the road at our local H.E.B. grocery store, so I think this is great!
H.E.B. is a Texas based supermarket chain and it stands for Henry E. Butt. Yes, I use to laugh hysterically at that as a child.
Anyway, Eva will be star as “femme fatale with a killer dinner party to plan“. The commercial “will highlight some of the perks of H.E. Butt Grocery Co.’s H-E-B Plus! store, a store concept that sells grocery items but also electronics, cook and grill ware, party planning and supply items and a do-it-yourself and garden center“.
Eva will donate all the proceeds of the commercial to Eva’s Heroes.
“As a native Texan, I grew up with H-E-B and still look forward to shopping there when I come home,” Eva said in a statement. “H-E-B is a great company that does fantastic things in our community and I’m proud to work with them and support a cause that is dear to my heart.”

Julie…I saw the commercial (a couple of times) It was a really good commercial. She’s a great actress. You didn’t have quotations so I honestly felt it wasn’t a quote. You will never please everyone, don’t let them get you down. You have some great article tidbits of interest on your threads. Some people get on Blogs to vent & yell & make other’s look silly when all it really does is make them look silly to everyone else. Guilianne didn’t poke fun or be snippy to me & I go by: “Sher” and typed that instead of “she”. I guess I should have done my spell check…dId I make a funny? You guys have a great evening!!! Yeah, I’m the stupid one who gave the wrong name for the grocery store.
I have always been told that’s what it stood for. Silly me for not going to their website and doing my research. I guess we’ve all been enlightened now.
So, who actually saw the commercial? It didn’t air here.

Eva did not make the comment about the company name….the author of this thread did. Is it necessary to show us how fabulous you are for going to HEB’s website then reporting who started the company? You make me laugh. Eva was great!
Did anyone see the commercial? I didn’t see it but ofcourse I live somewhere where there are no HEB’s.
Did she make that comment, “it stands for Henry E. Butt?” she really is stupid, for someone who is taking money for her supposed “charity” she should get the name of the company right. The correct name is HOWARD EDWARD BUTT. and just and FYI His mother FLORENCE BUTT started the company in Kerrville Tx in 1905. Her grandson CHARLES now runs it.
