Kate was born in Addiscomb, Croydon, Surrey, England, UK on January 16, 1974. Her birth name is Katherine Ann Moss and was born to Linda Rosina (Shepherd), a barmaid, and Peter Edward Moss, a travel agent. She has a younger brothers, as well as a half brother and half sister.
How she got her start in modeling:
Kate was discovered in 1988 in the JFK airport when she was only 14 years old. She became famous and was known as the “anti-supermodel” since she was making a name for herself at the same time as the more curvaceous models such as Cindy Crawford and Claudia Schiffer.
Questions about whether or not Kate was anorexic started circulating everywhere. She was thin and was called a “waif”, but had said over and over again “I’m not anorexic”.
