Kyle MacLachlan golfs to fight cancer

Orson might have tried to kill Mike on the show, but his real-life counterpart is using his power to help others.

Kyle MacLachlan, along with other celebrities and pro-golfers, will play in Callaway Golf Foundation’s Annual Pro-Celebrity Tournament on Monday, USA TODAY reports.

All the proceeds from the event go to the Entertainment Industry Foundation, which supports research for new prevention tests and therapies for breast, colon, prostate and ovarian cancers.

“As someone whose family has been personally touched by cancer, I felt it was important to get involved to raise awareness of ovarian cancer,” Kyle said. “Most people don’t think about ovarian cancer until someone in their family has it, and, by then, it’s often too late. One of the goals is to get ovarian cancer on people’s radar.”

There was one moment that I couldn’t *stand* Orson, but that completely changed after I thought about it more.

Earlier this season, when Bree’s career started looking up, and she promised to make him his favorite meal. She didn’t do it, and then she promised to do it the next day. She came home exhausted after a long day to find Orson waiting at the table for his food, and said she’d make it (yet) another time. Orson was harsh, and *demanded* that she do it, and she stood at the counter, cutting carrots with tear-filled eyes.

At first, I thought, “Wow — that was almost domineering — they way he ordered her around like that.” He almost seemed to have lost his mind!

But the more I thought about it, the more I believed he was in the right. She was neglecting him completely, and he had to make a point — however harsh it seemed. (I mean, sheesh — he obeyed her wishes and did jail time for hitting Mike, even though Mike forgave him)

Anyway, it was a very intense scene, wasn’t it?

Bree needs a strong man. A man who’s not afraid… to murder people.

Seriously, I’m sort of surprised they haven’t come to Mr. and Mrs. Smith-style blows yet.

I know! And who’da thunk it when he was this shady, creepy ex-crazy trying to marry Bree??
    Wait a second…sounds like Dave!

Kyle MacLachlan has become such an asset to the show. I’m so glad he’s stayed on board. :-)
