Painting of Prince Harry's Sandhurst Graduation on Display

royal portrait

The painting made by Sergei Pavlenko of the British Royal Family to commemorate Prince Harry’s passing out at Sandhurst will be on display at the Mall Galleries in London from Thursday to May 13.

The painting is notable in that it is the first time that The Duchess of Cornwall appears in a royal family portrait.

Mr Pavlenko said: “I asked Princes William and Harry if they liked it and they said ‘yes’ and when the Royal Family saw it at Sandhurst they all liked it,” the artist said.

… Three sketches in oils, including one of Camilla and another of William and Harry, will also be on show.

A spokesman for the Royal Society of Portrait Painters said: “The work is part of the tradition of portraits as works of historical record.”
