In their itinerary was a visit with Gurkha troops at the British Garrison near Brunei’s capital of Bandar Seri Begawan. These troops have served in Afghanistan. Among them was Lance Corporal Bhim Garbuja, of the 1st Battalion Royal Gurkha Rifles. He served with Prince Harry during the latter’s tour of duty in Afghanistan’s Helmand Province a few months ago.
Prince Charles and Camilla met with the Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah, who hosted a state banquet for them at the Nurul Iman Palace. On their last day in Brunei, the British royals met with students and staff at the University of Brunei Darussalam. Before they left the country, they attended a reception hosted by the British High Commission.
