After the awarding ceremony, Prince Harry mingled with the children and their families at a reception at the Abbey.
One of the awardees, Keaton Peppiatt, 10, won the Young Fundraiser medal for sending 400 boxes of treats to soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. Prince Harry made a suggestion of what else he could send to the troops in the front lines.
Keaton said: “Harry said ready meals from Sainsbury’s was something I could send. He told me that the Chicken Tikka Masala meal was really good. He said it was really hot in Afghanistan and the meals were disgusting, and just said ’keep on sending the boxes’.”
