Prince Harry to Retake Diversity Training

Prince Harry is going to retake an equality and diversity course, as a consequence of the remarks he made about fellow soldiers three years ago. The comments, captured on video and released last month, were widely seen as racist.

After the video was made public, Prince Harry met with his commanders in the Army, during which he was given a reprimand. The royal apologized both publicly and in private to the soldiers involved. The incident was also reviewed by the British military to determine if further action was warranted. The decision for Harry to take the refresher course is a result of that review.

The diversity course is part of standard training for army officers. Apparently, Prince Harry has not learned the lessons the first time around. He has also been recently accused of another racially-offensive comment, this time involving British comedian Stephen Amos.

Hopefully, the refresher course will be the last time that Prince Harry undergoes diversity training. Prince Harry’s actions, versus his speech, show that he is not a racist. However, he obviously needs to be more aware of what he says, especially if there is a chance that it will be made public.

DeidreLee, I also believe Prince Harry didn’t mean to demean his fellow soldiers. But he’s a public figure, and so must be seen to set a good example. As I said in my post, based on Prince Harry’s actions, he is not a racist. So, I hope these reports would be the last we’ll hear of this.

Oh got heavens sake, enough is enough. I sincerely believe the remark about a fellow soldier was indeed teasing. People have got to stop all this nonesense.
