Prince Philip Eases into Public Commitments

Prince Philip still has not completely recovered from the back injury which he sustained a few weeks ago.

Monsters and Critics is reporting that Prince Philip didn’t participate on a hare shoot, which he was hosting, at Sandringham over the weekend. The prince has been ordered by his doctor to refrain from standing for long periods of time. He has canceled engagements because of his injury, and is said to be making a decisions on what to attend on a day-to-day basis.

As this week started, however, it looked like Prince Philip is on his way to recovery. He was able to visit the Australian High Commission in London to express his condolences and sympathy for the victims of the bushfires in Australia. Prince Philip signed the first page of the official condolence book at Australia House. Similar books will be made available for the public’s messages. (source)

Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles have both expressed their condolences earlier.
