Prince William Gets His Wings

After four months of training in the Royal Air Force, Prince William has earned his pilot’s wings. His father, Prince Charles, as Air Chief Marshal, awarded the wings at a ceremony at RAF Cranwell, Lincolnshire.

Prince William was one of 25 new pilots who graduated from the training. During his course, he learned how to fly fast propeller-powered planes and helicopters. Upon his graduation, he is considered a competent but not operational flier.

Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, and Prince William’s girlfriend, Kate Middleton, were on hand to witness the ceremony. Kate looked every bit the proud girlfriend by William’s side (photo here). She was very chic too, in an ivory coat and high-heeled boots.
