Here’s the promo shot of “Desperate Housewives” Season Six. What do we think of this? I need to analyze this as only I can: thoroughly and snarkily. Jus’ call me Desperate Detective.
Let’s start with the obvious, OK?
1. Katherine. I keeping looking at the picture, glancing away, looking back again (rinsing and repeating a few times) and then singing “One of theses things is not like the other.” Knee-length dress. Her dirty pillows/shoulder/entire upper half is completely covered. Are we saying she’ll come back this season as a nun? And what’s with the goofy smile — when everyone else has a sly smirk or a serious/sexy look? And … a toaster? Everyone’s got some sort of household good, and they’re making it look like a good good (see what I did there?), but the toaster??
2. Susan. I don’t think I’ve ever seen HER look so sexy. With the pouty light-pink lips and matching dress? She’s totally understated (when I ever said that??) and yet takes over this photo as the focal point. How’d that happen?
3. Lynette. Aaahhhh, seeing this picture reminds me that I don’t have anything to look forward on Sunday for another three-plus weeks. That color is gorgeous on her, and the teddy bear gets us thinking about her pregnancy in the next season. Beautiful hair, beautiful makeup, but it’s totally Lynette — not too much. Unlike ….
4. Gaby. We’re facing some major makeup/mermaid dress extremes in this one. I do, however, love that she’s the one who does the least amount of housework, and yet she’s got the biggest appliance (that’s what he said?). The cocked eyebrow and red lips totally capture everything it means to be Gaby in one smirk. And let’s face it, “too much” is Gaby’s mantra.
5. Bree. This is my absolute favorite dress in this shot. The fit, the color, the boob feathering. It’s all just gorgeous. And she’s working the mermaid dress without looking like she’ll topple over once the shot’s finished.
I really love this photo. I love the desperate wife wasteland behind them, littered with dishes and laundry, and Gaby’s vintage (1950s?) Kirby vacuum. After staring at this for a while, I realized the only visible wedding rings are Gaby’s and Bree’s. And trust me, I looked hard to see whether Susan or Katherine were wearing one. I knew we wouldn’t get a hint that easily, but why does it seem like Lynette’s is almost conspicuously covered by the sash of her dress? <cocks eyebrow, Gaby-style).

I love the jewel tones of their dresses against the earth tones in the background.
About Kathrine, she’s holding a fork over the toaster. Putting any kind of metal objects in a toaster is a very bad idea, so this one has something wicked on her mind.

anyway i agree about what you said about the dresses and i liked this picture but i found it a little boring ! i mean, they have to work harder on promotinnel photos and clips from now on ! after the show lost 3 million viewers and that edie is dead !
there is another photo of season six ! but that one rocks ! i totally loved it ! they looked in it like they’re in a war or getting ready for one ! so juicy as the old season ! you have to post it !
and when the hell are they going to realise the promo ! they never were so late !!! i just hope it’s good ! not terrible as season five’s
