The Spanish Royals welcomed the President of the Dominican Republic Leonel Fernandez to the Zarzuela Palace today, May 18, 2009.
President Fernandez is in Spain for a five-day state visit. Part of his agenda involved seeking Spanish investors in his country. King Juan Carlos received him for a private meeting, before a gala dinner at the Royal Palace attended by the Spanish royal family.
Blue was the color of the day for the royal ladies. Queen Sofia’s choice was a light blue gown with detail on the lower portion of the skirt. Crown Princess Letizia was decidedly modern and young in a royal blue tube gown with an asymmetric strap. It’s nice to see the princess keep royal fashion in step with the times.
