Poll: Would You Date Tiger Woods?

After appearing on the Jimmy Fallon Show looking like his handlers thought he had done enough time out of the media spotlight to be forgiven by the public he had gotten through the first part of the grieving process after his harrowing divorce, Tiger Woods is, according to the Daily Mail, dating someone new.

So I’m going to put this to you in a poll, but first I’d like to go ahead and express my own opinion: FUUUUUUCK NO I WOULD NEVER, EVER, EVER FUCKING DATE TIGER WOODS, THAT CHEATING, ADULTEROUS BASTARD.

Phew! That’s out of the way. Now, I know what some of you are going to say — the women that date Tiger Woods post-Elin and post-public adultery may not be after what the rest of us are after — namely, a solid, stable and loving home. They may be after some of Tiger’s other wonderful assets.

So I guess my question to you is multiple-fold: 1. Are you one of those women (no shame in that game, just to be clear), or 2. Do you believe that cheaters can redeem themselves, so you’d date a Tiger?

I might. (I checked “maybe” and agree with the reasoning about 100%) I would never date a man with a history of violent crime, but relationship issues are tricky because relationships are about two people (or more), not just one. I don’t think it’s possible to judge how someone is going to behave in a relationship based on how he behaved in one other relationship, especially if you don’t know his ex. In a semi-bastardized-Foucauldian way, I believe that people cheat, but they aren’t necessarily “cheaters.” So I wouldn’t rule out dating someone who’d cheated in a previous relationship (although I would rule out dating someone who attacked a lover with a golf club).
