My bathroom is full of odds and ends. Over the years a number of products, tools and other solutions have come home – but there are only a few that I could call the true staples for my beauty routine. Here are some of the items no girl should go without. Beauty tools have come a long way over the years; it might just be time to update your bathroom cabinet too.

Makeup Brushes
How does anyone get through the day without a solid set of makeup brushes? There’s a difference between the type of brush you get with a set and a real set of tools you can rely on to properly apply makeup. This isn’t a place to skimp – and you should make sure to take care of your makeup brushes to make them last and keep excess oil and dirt from regular usage under control.

Tweezerman Tweezers
To tame your brows, there is only one choice. I love my Tweezerman tweezers. They have a nice point for tricky stray hairs and somehow just hurt less than other types of tweezers I’ve tried. Better yet, they come in fun colors! Sure, that may not exactly be a feature, but tweezing isn’t exactly a fun activity, so why shouldn’t they be cute and patterned?

Eyelash Curler
I’m not a huge fan of using mascara, so instead I rely on an eyelash curler to do the trick. For me, it’s shu uemura all the way. When you have your eyelashes clasped between two pieces of metal, it helps to know you’re working with a well known brand instead of a cheap knock off. Be careful and take your time.

Hair Straightener
More people are embracing their natural waves and curls these days – which as far as I can tell is leaving my hair that much happier. But…there are still times when silky smooth straight hair is fun. Pencil Sharpener

Pumice Stone
They are cheap, easy to use and so essential if you want to have smooth, soft feet. A pumice stone is just what you need. Find the option that feels right in your hand and don’t be too hard on your sensitive winter skin when you start scrubbing.
