Now I’ve studied these photos. I’ve zoomed in and tried to search for clue within the debris, and then — after I realized I couldn’t find anything anyway — I decided that I didn’t want to know who dies. For some unknown reason, for probably the first time in my life, I can wait until Chanukah to see what Chanukah Harry got me (instead of shaking all the presents in search of Totally Hair Barbie).

I want to be surprised. The end.

Marc Cherry has announced there’s going to be a plane crash on Wisteria Lane, and it’ll be BIG.

“It’s going to be my cliffhanger for the first half of the season,” Cherry told EW.com’s Michael Ausiello. Not only that, but the crash will “affect everyone’s lives.”

But don’t worry, he says — this crash won’t kill off any of the ‘wives. No one major dies, but this crash affects everyone’s lives? Hmmmmmmmm. I imagine that means either Lynette and/or Orson will be on the flight when it crashes. She’ll lose her twins and Orson dies? This makes those “problems” go away in a way only “Desperate Housewives” can.

Not only that, but “Lost” fans might get what they’re always looking for — a tidbit of their beloved show seeping into another ABC series, just so they can have something to tide them over until the show finally, comes back.

(Or am I being too presumptuous in saying that because I’m obsessed with both of these shows that others are, too?)

The small plane that crashes might be from Oceanic Airlines, the fictional airline owning the plane that crashed on the island, which started all those hilarious antics the “Lost” crew gets into. Oh, you guuuuys and your confusing nonlinear plot.

Oh man. Wait. Maybe we’ll see “Lost” stuff start happening on Wisteria Lane? Maybe Mary Alice Young was the leader of the Others, a group of leftover housewives from the ’70s who mop in horrible patterned polyester and live in shotgun houses on the other side of town? And Gaby only sleeps with gardeners because the street told her to? And maybe we’ll see Zach Young (wherever he is now), with a big thick beard, whining about how he has to go back to the island (of suburbia)?

After all, “Desperate Housewives” already poached a little bit of story from “Lost” with that five-year flash forward in Season 5, right?

Marc Cherry recently got grilled (sort of literally) by thewrap.com and spilled a TON of good stuff in spoiler land, as well as his general feeling on the show’s run. For example, he regrets bringing in the second season mystery so quickly.

The second season certainly wasn’t a favorite of mine, so how weird is it to hear the show’s creator talk about things he’d do differently, you know?

But enough of the mindless talk! On to the spoiler. How do you come back after a great season like season five — one that can mostly be attributed to the five-year jump in time?

With a HUGE mystery, of course. Why didn’t I think of this?? It’s perfect. It’s the only thing, at this point, that’ll keep viewers waiting (like most of us already do) each week!

Although it won’t be as “drastic” as the time shift, he says, it’ll be “an interesting mystery storyline involving one of our beloved characters. It’s a ‘Who Shot JR?’ kind of storyline.”

Does that mean someone dies?

An aside: He also mentions that he’s proposing a high school version of “Desperate Housewives.” It’s called “90210,” Marc….

It’s no secret there always have been rumors about the ladies getting along on the show — with Nicollette Sheridan in particular.

But Marc Cherry has come in defense of the woman who played the now-deceased village vixen.

“Edie was fantastic for the show and I do not have a negative word to say about her,” he said to Showbiz Spy. “Her character was actually not supposed to have as long a run in the show but she was so good in the pilot I had to keep her in. Part of my job is knowing when the end has come for any character and it was just Edie’s time. There is no animosity and there was no falling out.”

Interesting? I didn’t realize Edie wasn’t supposed to be a full-time character, but that makes a lot of sense. You might remember me complaining about how she never made it in the opening credits.

With Sarah Palin’s recent announcement that she’ll be stepping down early as governor of Alaska, we’re going back to some old rumors that swirled late last year: that she could become the newest desperate housewife. Ken Tucker from Entertainment Weekly has the same idea.

It was sort of mentioned lightly last year, what with her hot career in politics and all….but now? This is seriously a viable option for the conservative pro-abstinence parent of an unwed teenage mother. Ken’s reasoning is that we need a replacement for Edie. I disagree — we need someone to take over the NRA-badge-totin role on this show. Bree’s gotten far too moderate these days, don’t you think?

So I’m using this blog as a political platform. Post a comment if you want to see the former VP candidate as an actress on “Desperate Housewives.” Maybe she and Marc will see it and listen to us. You, American Desperate Housewives Fans, can have your voice heard!

Edie’s always been sorta the outsider, so it’ll be nice to see her in this way. Plus, now that she’s leaving, isn’t it about time she got her face in the ending of the opening credits?? Come on, Marc!

Victoria Beckham and her posh shoulders (shown in this photo shopping in Milan on Tuesday) are too busy to guest star on “Desperate Housewives,” friend Eva Longoria Parker told monstersandcritics.com.

“She is a bright girl and so funny,” Eva said. “We would love her on the show and the show’s creator, Marc Cherry, thinks she is super. But Victoria is way too busy with her fashion empire, which is a shame.”

Still, I don’t know what I think about her having a cameo. But if she’s got a good role in the show, it’d be better than a pretend-lesbian kiss, that’s for sure. Who do you think she’d be? I feel like Posh could only play Bob and Lee’s interior decorator, or some competitor for Bree’s homemaker business.

Or, maybe she could move in next door as a hasbeen pop star from a popular ’90s girl group, who has to dial down her life now that she’s no longer making as much money.

Jus’ sayin’.

Marc Cherry said yesterday that Gale Harold, who plays Susan’s (ex)boyfriend Jackson, will most definitely be returning by the end of the season.

“We are planning to write him in before the end. We had to wait while he did his recovery, but he will be back,” Cherry told Kristin Dos Santos from E!.

I know some people think he was a bad fit to begin with, and I for one, always will see him as Brian Kinney from “Queer as Folk”…so what do we think about this?

And how will he fit back into the story? I’m predicting there’ll be some epic battle for Susan’s love between Jackson and Karl…or maybe I’m just hoping for that?

Marc Cherry has been asked to cut $1 million from the ‘wives budget, reports E!’s Ted Casablanca. So that means, although Nicollette’s departure from the show has definitely been confirmed, she won’t be the only one. As for now, it’ll only be “guest stars” leaving, Ted said.

Who do you think will be desperately searchin’ for a new job? Better yet, who do you think should be desperately searchin’ for a new job?

These are my guesses: No more Lily Tomlin as one half of the Old-Lady P.I.s (though they best not be getting rid of Mrs. McCluskey…). I think we already knew this one, but this probably means Jackson/Gale Harold is gone for good. Who else? Katherine? A lass can hope, can’t she?

Andrew Bowen told Kristin Dos Santos from E! Online that she and the rest of the cast were only expecting to do seven seasons — until Marc Cherry announced that he was thinking about doing nine.

“It kind of surprised all of us that he’s contemplating going nine, but if our fans support it, it’s a great thing. If our only problem is should we do more seasons, then you don’t really have a problem. If we can keep it really entertaining and make good television, why not go as long as possible?”
