Lori G. had the winning entry with “Compass Rose.” Lori’s entry said:
I chose “Compass Rose” since it incorporates both the lustrous pink color along with the idea of the classic ornamented navigation symbol. It speaks to adventure and romance, charting new courses, and vintage glamour that transcends… More »

OK, let me just say that I had intended to write about some pretty cool products that Urban Apothecary has out, most especially how I love their What’s Hot Now page with pictures of the fall makeup looks and the exact products needed to achieve that look–thank you UA from the baffled and sometimes lazy people like me!
Anyway–as I was strolling through the site I then happened upon their mention that they are giving their products new packaging, so they… More »

My shine follows me everywhere like a bad habit. So thankfully the generous Cheri at Urban Apothecary reads this blog to know how my shiney complexion boils my blood. She sent along Got Blot and Make Under to see if she could resolve this problem child for me.
Got Blot is a transparent powder (do not be scared that it is pure white) that is appropriate for every skin tone. The powder is lightweight and no matter how many times you… More »
The one thing I hear most often when you have a newborn in your midst is, “You look so worn out.” Yes, only 2 hours of sleep a night will do that to you. Cheri at Urban Apothecary mentioned to me that a few sweeps of her Mineral Sheer Radiance across my face will perk my complexion up, basically hiding the fact that I was one sleep deprived momma.
My Mineral Sheer Radiance is in Dream, which is a pale pink… More »
On Urban Apothecary’s website, the description for the Mineral Sheer Tint uses the word “perfect” several times. I couldn’t agree more. This multi-mineral tinted foundation goes on smooth and leaves a beautiful dewy finish. The coverage is perfect and the foundation feels feather light.
I received mine in Natural Glow and it matched my skin tone perfectly. I’m wearing foundation without actually looking like I am wearing foundation. The Mineral Sheer Tint also has an SPF of 20, so its great… More »
This week sure has felt like an eternity and was quite a struggle. After Brody was born, I found that I was experiencing some pain that on a scale of 1-10, was an 11. I blew it off, as I absolutely hate doctors. However, by Friday I was to the point of sobbing and made my way to the doctors…who then sent me directly to the hospital for a 2 day stay on some heavy IV antibiotics.
I was a… More »
Naturally, as a lip gloss addict, the first product from Urban Apothecary that I had to review was their Super Gloss. This super generous tube of gloss had my name written all over it when I spotted it in the box.
I received both Super Nectar and Super Charming. Super Nectar is a beautiful peach color and Super Charming is light pink. Each has this gorgeous shimmer to them, that combined with the glossiness, make your lips so shiny and look… More »
I’ll start by saying that today I was going to post some specials going on at Urban Apothecary. I was introduced to their products last summer and have been loving their Supernatural Mineral Powder as my foundation of choice since then. In fact, I think in a few of the last posts, I’ve mentioned that product. Also–I answered a fun fact questionairre for the Beauty Blog Network, that I know Elke will be posting soon that names the Supernatural Mineral… More »
I’m not one to stick to a particular brand and just about everyday I mix and match my makeup to suit my mood. I would find it inherently blaaaaahh to just do my face with just Este Lauder or Nars each day. How boring.
Some of my favorite mix and match products are:
* Lumiere Mineral Makeup’s Lavender Pearl along my lower lid with Jane Iredale’s Think Pink eyeshadow trio on my upper lid and brow bone.
* NYX Comsetics Super Volume Lip… More »
Review from 8/2006:
On my birthday I got an unexpected visit from the UPS man. He came baring gifts from Urban Apothecary. I was expecting a sample I requested, only to find the best surprise ever…3 full size lipglosses. The UPS man also delivered Mrs. Field’s Cookies sent by my brother, of which my (male) children could not understand why I was more excited about the lipgloss.
I received Swizzle Stick in Malta, Moisturizing Double Mint Gloss in Sweet & Sexy,… More »
Do you know that the Supernatural Mineral Powder that I fell in love with months ago is still going strong–so much product left and I basically use it everyday! It still remains one of my favorite foundations.
Since I am a fan of Urban Apothecary, I subscribe to their newsletter and this recent newsletter is awfully tempting. The products in this month’s newsletter are:
Supernatural Bronzer

We all have at least one product that we can’t live without. Of course, I know there are several things that I use on a daily basis that I can’t imagine myself without.
At the top of the list would be mascara. I like both AVON’s Super Full mascara and Cover Girl’s LashExact. I have AVON’s in black and Cover Girl in brown. Both are amazing and my lashes would never look so gorgeous without them.
Next would have to be a… More »
When I purchased my Supernatural Mineral Powder, the great deal offered by Urban Apothecary was that I would receive a Pro Pigment for free. It was a $16 value and I was completely excited to try something new.
I chose Czarina for my Pro Pigment, which on the website looked like a combination of pinks and purples. These are colors that make my hazel eyes look more green than brown, so I was all for it.
Just like the Supernatural Mineral Powder,… More »
One of my recent advertisers on A Girl’s Gotta Spa! was Urban Apothecary. They offered a can’t-pass-up special that lead me to purchase their Supernatural Mineral Powder. I haven’t used pressed powder in a very long time and I was a little nervous about picking the right color for me. I went with Tender, which ended up being perfect for my skin tone.
Urban Apothecary has very fast shipping; I had my products within 5 days of ordering. When I… More »
